Internet Harassment

This is extremely terrible. The Internet can sometimes be a toxic if not used properly. I felt sorry for Megan. To die at a very young age. well to me, if I am are cyber-bullied, I will ignore the incident and won't take it to heart. These idiots have nothing better to do. Haiyah,what in the name of Arceus is the world turning to??
 
This is terrible, i live in st. louis and it really brings it close to home for me. I am upest for what happend to megan. I hope what happened teaches a lesson to everyone. To those being bullied and to those who do bully. I hope people who bully stop right now, this is just showing that people do take this seriosly, whether you mean it to be seriosly or not it hurts. We are all created equal. Thats what i believe. You might not feel this all the time but just know that its true. know that and you will be ok.
 
People are bad. It's good to know that the community on Pokebeach is rather decent. Like Godzilla said, when I first got on NetBattle, I got trolled quite badly for being new to the metagame. Smogon is an elite site, and look how they humiliate with Trou Du Cal and Firebot. It is very sad to hear that cyber-bullying still exists, and it is not easy to stop. But this shouldn't lead to suicide. I'm sure most of us here have been humiliated for playing such a kiddy game like Pokemon. WPM has been a target of many rival sites. He's been through a lot. Has he commited suicide? Lol no. >.>

But yes, those comments were bad. This is MySpace eh? Blogs? These kind of things attract the most insults.

Its just sad why people actually do this. It makes you feel disgusted and stuff. Ive never had to face this, apart from someone PMing me on these forums saying I was a f'in j****** but he's banned. It was moltres master IIRC. He said I was the one that got him banned. Good riddance to him too.

But yeah, Im just disgusted about how people use the Internet as a mental gun of demise.
 
Seriously...committing suicide over insults ? That is dumb, even tough it's (definately) not her fault, that was a foolish idea...but, I feel sorry for her... :F
 
And the worst part of it all is that we can't stop cyber bullying, because anywhere, on any site, at any time something like this can happen again. I hope Megan rests in peace and whoever cyber bullied her goes to hell.

It's dumb to some, but not to others. The way I see it, someone who takes the Internet seriously in this manner does not have a refuge in real life, so I can at least grasp the idea of someone committing suicide over this... although I cannot begin to imagine what emotional turmoil she was actually experiencing.

But I will not be naive here and say that the problem lies strictly within the Internet, because when over 6 billion people inhabit the world you are going to get some bad eggs. You are also going to get unfortunate or just plain vulnerable people too. You just have to accept that some of the monsters out there lie within your own gene pool.
 
It's honestly very sad seeing people get hurt (emotionally...and sometimes physically.) over the Internet. I also agree that people do this kind of junk really have no lives and are taking their feelings about themselves out on other people. There have been many stories about this kind of behavior, which needs to be stopped before it becomes a MAJOR problem. People are just creuel sometimes. Sadly, there is no way to completely montior this kind of behavior. I think MySpace should get some mods like they do here, and establish ground rules, because most internet harassment takes place over the internet. I'm also glad the Pokebeach is at least safer then most sites, although I myself have seen some foul language spread around lately.
It's truly sad to see people this cruel...

i was watching news 4 and what happend was the family thought that megan was cheating on the girl in the family. So they cyber bullied her and one day she decided to hang her self because of the words from the first post

the family that cyber bullied her are mentaly illed people.
 
It's funny sometimes that a little lie/misunderstanding/rumor can grow in to something this big.
Also, I 98% agree with your last sentence, cool.
