I run Gyarados. Vileplume I'd say is big in are area (just look at Gliscors report). What should I do against it? I lost my T1 game to Vilegar, and the winner of cities was a Vilepluff.

Any good counters?
How about DGX?
Blaze FB?

My suggestions would be Regice and Rescue energy to overcome the obvious problem and a luxray tech if you can afford it so you can try to remove the trainer lock

I would suggest using regice ealy game to move their spiritombs so you can use trainers for a turn or two, after that I would reckon you should use Blaze Fb for taking out the vileplums as fast as you can. You can also use Blaze Fb to kill off the oddish/gloom as they come into play.
Hope it helps :D

if you use DGX and an upped movement engine (WP, Switch, Unown Q) then you can get around vileplume fairly well. i've tested it and it works fine. luxray doesn't work, it's unlikely you can ko vileplume.

Dialga G Lv.X is one of the better counters to Vileplume, but my personal favorite is running a second Azelf (Which is useful in Gyarados anyway) and a few Psychic Energies to trap their Spiritombs. If you run Luxray GL Lv.X, it's even better, because you can drag up a Plume and trap it with Lock Up. Dialga is the better counter, but the Azelf takes less deck space, and is useful in matchups other than ???+Vileplume.

dialga is a good option

and you can poketurn it when you are done playing the trainers to avoid level down
then play it again when you need to play more trainers

Play less Trainers? Or better yet, make it less reliant on Trainers. You can also discard excess with Regice. Fainting Spell is really the hard part, I've seen. Crobat+Seeker for a late kill to get around it can help, or Warp to an Uxie with an Energy on it to Psychic Restore.

dmaster out.

I have found that if you break the lock early-game, the deck has a hard time getting the lock up again. Plus try to kill the Oddish or Gloom before it evolves.

Dialga G Lv X definately. Just promote the Dialga G after a Gyarados is KO'd, level up and play all your trainers. Once you've done that, you can just poketurn it back to your hand and bench the Dialga G again.
