How much would a tablet be?

I was just wondering that how much would a tablet be. It's not that I cannot draw but it's just that my scanner is broken so I cannot draw anything properly. So I would be grateful to anyone who answers.

It depends on what you're looking to spend, and what you want.

But don't get anything but a Wacom- they're the best brand at them.

Anyways, here is the home series (bamboo): http://www.wacom.com/bamboo/product_comparison.php

I personally am getting a craft because it's larger than the rest of them, but really, it depends on what you want to use it for.

I have the Wacom Bamboo Pen; works really well and was about $70 at Best Buy. There are a few cheaper models, but if you're planning on using it regularly I suggest investing a few extra dollars to get something you'll really be satisfied with.

Personally I wouldn't 100% trust eBay for getting a tablet, as sometimes (not all the time!) little things can be missing or broken and it's REALLY hard to get a refund or the like. Unless, you know, the seller's got a ton of reps and the like. But try not to buy used.

As for what model, Bamboo is probably a good starter model to buy. They're fairly cheap at $100 or so dollars new off the wacom website, and it's really worth it to get a brand new one. It takes some taking used to, of course.

If you got a bit more cash to spend, though, and don't want to bother learning how to size-differenciate the stylus's movements and the mouse's movements, Cintiqs are the best in the business. Be prepared to shell out $1-2K for one though. Regardless, they're for really professional work, as they have a VERY large drawing area (you get a size that matches your screen) and you can watch what you are doing on the actual tablet iirc.

But yeah, Bamboo's probably your best bet. Again, I HIGHLY advise buying anything but new ones.

I have printers off eBay. 2 of 3 have been trouble free purchases. The third didn't enclose the correct transformer. The reason I bought off eBay, I got the printers for 1/2 of what they were going in stores for.

Thanks for all your trouble guys :) I had in mind to spend around $120 it seems that I can get a fairly good one seeing all these posts for that price. I'm going to get it near Christmas :) Again thanks for the help.

Would recommend something from the wacom intuos series but a bamboo is fine for light work. I myself use a bamboo pen. I wouldn't recommend the bamboo pen if you need a large working area though. The bamboo pen's surface area is pretty small (about 15 by 9 centimeters), I think it was designed to be portable.

Also definitely don't go for second-hand. Reason being the tablet's surface or the nib of the stylus could have already been very worn out and the owner could just be wanting to get rid of it.

Thanks and the kind of art I'm hoping to do is for the fake cards (I'm tired of searching for suitable art works) so I guess that falls into the smaller catergory.
