No this is not a topic to post that it to ask if there should be a rule on it.I have been seeing a lot of these topic latly and I know it for the new people to get like there first post or something but should we really have them?.

c-m: You've been warned way too much, please use proper grammar and spelling. I know you once told me you could be didn't want to. Well, now there's an official rule, so you're going to have to start wanting to use it, or there shall be consequences.

I think that that kind of thread should be like goodbye threads. Locked. A newbie can find out all they need to know by reading the rules. You don't have to make a thread saying " Hi! I'm new! " .

Yeah, but they can't read the rules if they don't know where they are... In any case, maybe there should be a separate forum for new members. Otherwise, there has to be something that clearly distinguishes the forum with the rules, no questions asked. Even so, some newbies won't even acknowledge the Forum Rules...

Shawn out.

Wouldn't the newbie guide be enough? I think it is.

Good reasons why NOT to make a different forum for new members.

1. I think it would only encourage the new members to spam. (As in "Hi, I'm new. Wanna play?" what's the point in that?)

2. After that is said, then what? They can't really talk about anything else. If they ask about the forum, they get referred to the newbie guide. If they start talking about anything else, they get referred to the appropriate forum again.

3. If they need to come and point out that they are new members, they should just make their first post. Everybody can see from their level that they're new. There's no reason to came and point that out and if it's completely necessary, then there is the newbie guide again!

4. For rules and questions about being new -> newbie guide. And the rules have been agreed upon registration. If they were stupid/ignorant/blind enough to not read them the first time, they can be referred to read them again when they start to make mistakes in the forums and a moderator corrects them (again, it's easy to see that they're new from their low level).

I could think of many more indepth reasons why not, but that would just be kinda pointless. I think those four are enough to bring out my point of view on this matter.

The Newbie guide is the best place to post for new members. We only need one thread.:)

Though, now that I think about it, it's an easier way for us to catch newbies before they wreck havoc on all other threads. They're more likely to check their own intro thread than a random thread they posted stupidly on.

I just went ahead and locked all of the latest intro topics. I do not have any opinion on this, but once they have been directed to the rules, I lock their thread.

Mewstor wins this thread.
