Biweekly Haiku & Short-Poem Contest XXXIV

Rules and Entry Information

1.) Signups will again be based on the order in which submissions are made, meaning that all entries are to be made upfront (either here or via PM to me). The limit for entries is again set at fifteen participants. Once an entry is submitted, it cannot be swapped out for something else or altered in any way.

2.) Submissions are expected to be haiku-style short poems (those with a “five-seven-five” syllable format spread out across three lines). However, other types of short poems will be accepted so long as they don’t exceed four lines in length. New entries will be accepted until Wednesday, November 28th, 2012 around noon or until all slots are filled.

3.) Each poem for the contest must follow the selected theme for the competition. Due to artist’s having different interpretations of ideas, no haiku will be disqualified for writing about divergent topics so long as the theme is tied in somehow (if it isn’t, then you will be disqualified for the duration of this round); however, please note that poems posted with intent to troll or written up stupidly will be disqualified automatically. This contest’s theme is Thanksgiving.

4.) Voting will run for three days and be open to all members of PokéBeach. Everyone will be allowed to vote for up to three of their favorites. If more than eight entries are submitted, then participants may vote for their own poem. However, if less are entered, then they may not and a point will be deducted from the score of anyone who does so.

*Rules, timescales, and other parameters are subject to change without notice.

Updated at 3:05PM CST! Let me know if you want a better title, CJ. I just went with "Turkeys" so that I wouldn't just be repeating the full first line like I otherwise would've.

{The Day!!!}

Thanksgiving is here.
Smell the turkey in the air,
see the parade pass.

This is just a heads-up. I plan to start voting Monday since this round has been less successful than anticipated.

Alright. I've started voting early this time since nobody new has entred since Ice Arceus updated the OP last. I WILL NOT accept any new entries from here on out.

Voting is done! Serperior came in first, Ice Arceus and Grumpigfarmer came in second, and CJBlazerX87 came in third.
