Good books for 1st graders?

Well I have to write a book about something a 1st grader would like. But I am at a COMPLETE loss as to what they like. So if you have an ideas or any advie LMK ASAP! I only have 2 weeks to write a whole book and make illustrations. BTW it's got to be 10-20 pages long with words on 10-20 pages.
 
1st graders? They like animals a lot... Write a 26 page book that involves the alphabet and an animal that begins with each letter.

ex
A is for Anteater
*illustration*

B is for Blue Jay
*illustration*

C is for Crocodile
*illustration*

etc.
 
In the ciriculum I am in that is acctually considered Pre-School/Kindergarten level. :(

Do a book about a young boy who's selfish and doesn't like to lend people stuff. He finds out that he has no friends because he isn't invited to his friend's birthday party and decides to change. Then everyone likes him again.

write a book about bob the elephant, who says kretty and eats peanuts all day long, and likes to take a stroll in the park and play on the swings, but he cant play on the swings, because he is so frekin fat, so he is made fun of by all the little children, and then he decides to blow them up, I mean make a bigger swing and then every one wants to play on his bigger swing so they all like him,Yeah!
 
Why a whole book? Your school is making you write a BOOK XD?

Anyway, make a book about a MAGICAL kingdom ruled by King Water. P. M. , with his trusty Prince, C. Kaga. Their helpful knights, Sir Ba Con, Sir Noobnerd, Sir P.M of the J, lady Amt, and their medic Doctor. Robot K-176, their battlemaster, Sir Kev InGarret, and their technician Pory "Gon", who fight the evil Duke Firebird.

There are many servants in this kingdom. The peasant Kronar of the Childlover family, who is known for always forgetting his hat in the Castle. "Sil" Ver who is a very loved for his blacksmithing. The mathmetician who is usually mocked for his ideas and theories, "God", as the other people who believe in him and his ways, Zilla. The colorblind man, Rory, who says he loves all colors but never knows which is which.

And then there's the town goof, Gale. Or Galefail, as everyone calls him. And in the story at one point he kills the evil duke, teaches everyone a valuable lesson, and steals Kronar's hat.
 
Oh. I thought you meant examples so that you could basically base your book off them.

Hmmm...how about the first day of school for a naughty kid?
 
Most younger kids enjoy things like Trucks, construction equipment, and most of all trains. That may be a somewhat good bases for you to start off with. Fireman and Policeman are a general favorite as well. You may want to try and piece some of those idea together to a story.
 
Do one of an kid that is horrible to his mum then gets taken away by animals then he learns not to be horrible to his mum but it is jsut a dream

I think leaving it at this would pwn :p.

A gang of children see a magic wizard who teleports them to a nice place with sweets and stuff. Then they're all naughty and go to some sad place where it's all boring, and then they end up home(Just in time for dinner XD) having learnt a lovely moral and all.

I like the idea! But I wouldn't want the killing involved. :D My teacher said not to much violence keep it to a minimal.

Ok this contest is won by Gale as I have to start it tommorrow. :(

But you all gave good ideas but Gale's was just a knee slapper that an kid would love!
