French red cheeked Pikachu

Was the red cheeked Pikachu ever released in the French base set?

I am just wondering. My guess is no because the French first edition was shadowed and released after the English base set. I have not been able to find any literature on this or a picture of a French red cheeked Pikachu.

Anyone know?

I can confirm that there is no "Red Cheek" Pikachu from the French Base set.
