who should i use to fight this ghost...i know ill use a bug!
or who should i use againts this posion type...i know ill use a ground type
not all type combos make sence

thats how i figured out that pyschic was good againsts posion(which doesnt make scense either)

yeah and i just realized yesterday in fact that bug was good against ghost! WE all learned by trial and error and now every other newbie should have to. isn't that part of the adventure??

so that's a no, i don't think Dento should have three types just as some kind of tutorial, I think it will be so that it is more challenging no matter what type of starter you pick!

i want all the details 2b a mystery except 4 the info bout the new mons, i wanna know everything bout them so i can pick my team(and on that note i wanna know everything bout the gym leaders and e4) thats it

Oh I totally agree with you in a way. But the reality of gaming companies is that they have to assume that many younger gamers will be playing their first pokemon game. It's important for any game that it appeals to the widest demographic possible in order to get loads of money!

Kids these days have shorter attention spans, and it's important that they pick up the game techniques quickly in order for them to enjoy the game. So short tutorials on typing weaknesses and resistances, how to catch a pokemon, where the pokemart/center is are important. Some are subtle tutorials, like the starter battles with Cheren and Belle. Some are more obvious - like the Trainer School.

I'd prefer to have a high-difficulty game, but it's likely they'll follow the tried and tested methods of the past.

I'm glad to see my one post caused a bit of discussion. If Dento has a grass, fire and water type pokemon I will be very pleased. However having all three starters would be even sweeter. Hey if the grass gym leader in Sinnoh (forgot her name at the moment), I see no reason why Dento can't have all three.

I firmly believe that Dento's team will be quite different in terms of type.

edit: Ah Gardenia, that is her name.

I believe Dento is multi-typed, too. But if this is true, then what could the other leaders specialise in? That's for another thread, tho.

If Dento really is unique in terms of typing, I also wonder if we'd be seeing much more of him throughout the game.

When I was growing up, "us kids" were playing games that were nintendo hard. It seems this standard has changed :D

i think the mixed idea is great, but he shouldn't use the starters. maybe the gyms will be based on stats/ability?
for example:
gym2: more defensive
gym3: better attack
gym4: status effects
so on, so forth. :) what do you think?

I actually think the pic on Pokebeach is higher quality :)

But I don't think having all thre starters is overkill at all. It fits in with the badge and the question. Anyway, why would there be all three symbols on the badge if Dento only battles with one type? Since there are three distinctly different symbols I would think he battles with three different types.

Definitely. A gym like this absolutely isn't out of the question. In fact, it's a little exciting :D

I'm just curious if all gyms will be multi typed o_O

Ex: The gym with the icicles on the front could be a seasonal gym?

I would have thought that, had the icicles changed with the seasons. But we clearly saw two different seasons in two different pictures of that Gym, and the icicles were in both. I doubt it is a seasonal Gym.
