Ruling Deck-out Question

I was at my local league last week with one of my friends who plays Magic the Gathering. He noticed (in a game that wasn't his) that somebody played a Professor Sycamore with only 6 cards left in their deck and thought they decked out and lost on their turn because they couldn't draw the 7 cards, only 6. I know you can deck-out that way in Magic, but would that be considered decking out and therefore a loss on your turn? Or would you lose when you can't draw any cards at the beginning of your next turn?

You lose when you can't draw a card at the beginning of your turn. Your deck can have zero cards in it during your turn and you're fine. Drawing your final cards on something like a Sycamore to win the game that turn can be a great idea in the right situation :)
