Damage Spread

Now damage spread probably isn't gonna compete in the current meta but I was wondering what cards would make the most viable damage spread and what a solid list would look like?

What trainers would compliment keeping something alive whilst spreading damage? Energy disruption to slow them down?

There are a fair few damage spreading pokemon out there, here's some examples:

There are others such as Noivern but I was thinking Florges is a stage 2 which slows things down but it is only a 1 energy cost and good health. Also it's stage 1 has a damage spread attack too if you're in a tight spot or you've not hit a rare candy.

Forretress can abuse all versions of scoop ups to keep reusing his power to spread and can attack with a single DCE if needed.

A 1-1 Meowstic or 1-0-1 Dusknoir can move damage counters to big threats anywhere on the field if need be.

Ideas? Possible list?

Strategy:

I just threw this list together, so there's probably room for improvement. I like Kyurem better than Florges for several reasons. It's a Basic, which means that it's easier to set up, it has more HP, and it's spread attack does more damage. The only downside to Kyurem is the three Energy attack cost, which is how Blastoise found a spot in the deck. Blastoise also has the perk of being a built in Pyroar counter, and since we already have one Stage 2 in the deck, another supporting Stage 2 that we can take our time to set up doesn't hurt consistency too much, at least not as much compared to including the first Stage 2 and Rare Candy. I also included Keldeo as a backup attacker. It could be very nice to take a few late game KO's, and if you have damage on the board from Kyurem's attack, you probably won't have to load up a Keldeo like you normally would to OHKO. The main problem I see this deck having is that the spread isn't enough against smart players who don't fill up their Bench much, even against non-spread decks, and that the Black Kyurem Blastoise variant is likely hands down the better Blastoise deck. Being able to OHKO anything unconditionally (except for Megas now) is hard to beat. But I think that this should be semi-viable and at the very least fun to play. (Spread decks are among my favorites.)

I'd suggest a few target whistle for the deck to get the maximum damage spread.

Hadn't thought about stuff from the new set. That definitely makes the deck and all other spread decks a lot less reliant on your opponent.

Landorus EX (Hammerhead) and Gourgeist (Eerie Voice) are excellent damage spreaders too, IMO. Btw, Eerie Voice drops damage counters; so, bench-protecting Stadiums nor Poke can stop the attack.

Plasma Weezing is a good one as well with its Smogbank attack. With Dimension Valley it's a Stage 1 with only one energy cost to do 20 damage to each Pokemon. I would play them with Rocky Helmets to force a further 20 damage on the opponents attacking Pokemon and perhaps combo them with Plasma Espeon to snipe off weakened targets.

Gourgeist is great actually, spreads for a stage 1 with one energy and works perfectly with Dusknoir and also Spirit Scream with Hypnotoxic Lazer if you wanted a big EX kill... hmm could even use Target Whistle plus Lysandre and that attack for another EX KO... Or Spirit Scream then even if they retreat the damaged active, placing Forretress down would still get the KO...

How about this???

Flygon/Dusknoir is still workable in Expanded. I don't think there's a reliable way to build it in Standard without Tropical Beach and Accelgor though, since these are key to setting up fast and keeping the opponent locked. This was definiately the most efficient means of doing spread damage in the last format though. I suppose Flygon / Donphan is doable in Standard, or even Flygon/ Gengar, but without Tropical Beach the deck loses its speed. Seismitoad also isn't kind to it, so I don't think we'll be seeing much of Flygon in the future.
