Why wouldn't you be able to use it at a tournament, its just a playmat, it has no obscene or suggestive themes on it. I've seen people use Naruto, Dragonball Z, and even I use a Magic The Gathering playmat.
I've heard you can make them by printing it reverse on paper, and then iron it on to a blank mat, thus transferring the image, or something along those lines. Can this be done? Can anyone enlighten me on the proses?

@Porygon-X: I believe screen printing is just a method of printing things onto material. A similar method is used for t-shirts and such. Correct me if I'm wrong though
Yeah. With screen printing you are basically burning images onto a silk screen. After that you basically 'print' the colors onto the fabric. Usually color by color.
