There has been a ton of spambots lately. Any explanation/problem/solution?

Anyway, I have noticed an increase in bots, but am not aware to the reason. All you have to do is report a post by a bot and any moderator can handle it in a minute or two.

There is a registration security question plugin available. If WPM installed that, it could help. I personally just take out the default questions it has and replace it with ones the person actually should know if they are visiting a forum.

We already have the email activation installed as well. If we didn't have that, you would be seeing a lot more lol.
