Writing A (short) poem I wrote about my love for the English Language. Please rate!

So, I've been writing some poetry lately, and wanted to know if I am good at writing it. I spent an hour coming up with this, and wanted to know if I am any good at writing poetry. Please, do not hesitate to point out flaws in my poetry!

In love with grammar, by PokeChamp

Oh, what a sweet addiction grammar can be!
Capitalization, punctuation, all of it beautiful.
Can't you see?
I find bad grammar terrible!

But how horrible my wrath can become,
If you forget to place a single apostrophe,
My mind begins to numb,
And I bash your ignorance swiftly!

I obsess over placing my commas correctly,
And no one can possibly understand,
Why PokeChamp writes so neatly,
And how his words sift like sand!

I seldom type the Ampersand (&),
And will tell you how it is lazy to use one,
I adore grammar more than my own land!
My grammar is strict, like a nun!

In conclusion you will find:
That while I am obsessed over the apostrophe,
Getting along with me is easy,
As long as you put your grammar to mind!

I'll give you points for being creative... but for as a poem... uhhh...

Lets just say it's less than musical. :p

No love for the semicolon. D:
The poem is ok, but not the best. Good job though.

As far as being original, this has already been done. The poem does not flow with any kind of smoothness. Please remember a poem never has to rhyme trying to rhyme can make it very difficult to get your story across. Try writing what comes to you instead of thinking so hard about it. One very important thing to remember about poems is that you actually do not need correct grammar, punctuation, capitalization, or anything like that.

Sorry to be so critical. I would honestly rate this as a 2/10

I knew my poems sucked. :(

Thank you for your honesty, though. Ah well... I better stick to writing fanfics instead of poetry.

I certainly hope you meant "how lazy it is," for that flows much better.

Do I have to whack you with a dead tuna for having a comma splice in that bolded section?! XD

Overall, it's not bad. Not exactly a great one, for there's a lack of rhythm, but I did seen worse. Keep trying and you'll strike poetry gold someday.

I'll will try again. :p
Thanks for taking the time to post, Zyflair.

Gosh. You must really be obsessed with thinking you are having good punctuation. Decent poem structure, but I don't have the same taste for grammar that you do.

Please, I'm obviously more harsh on punctuation and grammar. >=D

Umm... I do use excellent grammar, thank you very much! I may not be an expert at writing poems, but my grammar usage is amazing. [/ego-boost]

I don't think so, Zyflair. To be honest, I see us as grammar equals.
