“Ninja Spinner” Set Trademarked for the Pokemon TCG!

We are obviously talking about different things here. To me, these sets wouldn’t exist without ZA coming out so they are clearly bound to the game for me. If you define it differently, that’s fine with me :) it’s not of that great importance. It still would/coukd leave Inferno X as the possible first themed set with your definition. Also Greninja is the most popular gen 7 mon - so fitting to come back to your original post. As Zygarde is most likely tied to the ending of ZA, I doubt they would start with that but let people play the game first.
everyone be forgetting about Primarina 😢

I can't wait for Gen 10 so we can have a reset already 😂 Pokémon be goin full throttle rn with the Mega era reveals

Yeah you'll see the blatant difference. It is very obvious when a set is themed around a game (and new pokemon/forms will start AFTER a certain set). And I mean obviously we are entering the Mega era because of it they just decided to start it a bit before the game itself releases. They probably wanted more sets to cover megas before gen 10 shows up
ZA was planned to release in June, so every MEGA Set should have released after we got the game. Because of the delay and now October as release date for ZA, we have two sets before the game, because what should they do? In hurry create two more SV Sets to fill the blank? The sets are created two years before release and printed 6 months before. Our first international MEGA Set, which we get in September, was already printed three months ago in March. Today they print our January special set.

yeah then idk why you replied to me in the first place, clearly not important to you that cards feature a specific game which was my initial point but whatever. And no Inferno X isnt possible either that comes before the game. maaaybe a big maaybe they feature new pokemons and stuff that has been revealed but I personally doubt it

Absolutely not, mega Gardevoir and Charizard sets, as stated by the article and well everyone, these are just while we get PLZA. No chance in hell they will have anything to do with PLZA that by then is not even out. At best they will reference Kalos but that’s it
To me these first couple of sets are kinda like how Star Birth(?) introduced the VSTAR mechanic with Arceus as the headliner before the release of Legends Arceus, and then all the Hisuian stuff came later. Though Star Birth did reference modern Sinnoh, but not Hisui. So the Gardevoir/Lucario and Charizard sets are all there to introduce the Mega ex mechanics, and then Ninja Spinner will probably introduce some actual new Kalos stuff from Legends ZA.

Point is, I agree with you that I think the first couple of Mega sets will reference "old" Kalos, but not the new ZA stuff

Okay, for those who didn't already know, this is 125% a Mega Greninja Set. There's a high chance this set will feature most new megas and the mega set/sets afterwards will use the rest. I'm so excited, man

We might not be getting a September set. We haven't had a prerelease reservation email yet which is always 3 months before the first prerelease. If they just wait 3 weeks to announce the prerelease, the set release would fall at the same time as the game release.

but where is the difference then? It’s different from Hisui/Sinnoh. It’s Lumious City in 2013 vs. 2025. the change isn’t as big. I doubt they will show the old Lumious City if ZA isn’t going to be an alternative Universe. Otherwise it will be the „current state“.

Guess time will tell or we just get very unspecific cards location-wise.

You might be arguing the most meaningless semantics and still end up being wrong

Ah yes the typical: I don’t care so why should you? I’m sorry if these dragged people that don’t care about it into it (mind you I was following what the article already stated but eh) but this really was just speculation for those who do and pay the minimum attention to detail when cards come out

I see that point too. Maybe these first few sets are more 2013-Kalos based with characters, and also maybe moreso the entire Kalos as to rather Lumiose City, whereas the following would be more Lumiose based with new characters and/or Pokemon/Megas as well as potential new Lumiose landscapes (like the wild zones or whatever they were called)

All I'm saying is I don't think it's ridiculous to think that every Mega set is loosely related to ZA (given that SV abruptly ends mid year around same time ZA reintroduces Megas). There also isn't a release date on the set yet and by the time it does, one of the worst kept secrets in pokemon the unconfirmed new megas, which includes M Greninja, will actually exist. And its not that much of a stretch that one of the Kalos mascots with a new Mega evolution will be centerpiece of a tcg set. To suggest they are "absolutely not" related to PLZA seems like an overreach but hey crazier things have happened

This should be combined with the charizard set for the full english set no? I'm not the largest fan of this year being the nostalgia year so I hope they bring some interesting mechanics to sort of make up for it.
