However, for the coloring, remember to expand the selection by 1 or 2 pixels before you fill so that background lines won't appear inside the CG outlines. *To expand the selection go up to Select > Grow.*

When you say it "doesn't work" what is happening? Does a message pop up stating an error? Did you save it to the correct directory (if that is required)? Does Redshark recognize the file? Is the file corrupt or was interrupted when saving?
The stance was a bit difficult, but not too too hard. I believe the eyebrow is supposed to stick out, I made sure of it by referring to other Salamence pictures. I didn't use any gradients for shading though. o.O
Thanks Ophie, but this piece wasn't made for a card. If it were, I would have applied more effects such as lightning and rain, make Salamence appear less cartoon-like (removing the outlining), and make all elememnts appear more realistic. :/
Alas, look very closely at the leg. You will see that the tail is lower.
It's hard to explain, but I made it so that the tail was whipped to the side. That is why the rest of the tail is dark and Salamence's leg obscures the beginning point of the tail.

There is no need to get rude. I understood that you were being helpful and I agree, the background should be changed, and as I just stated I am going to work on it when I get more time. I'm not mad at you and I don't expect everyone to think that this is the best guide in the world at all...

DD, the point of the tutorial was to show how to make the character appear to be coming out of the card. Do not criticize me about the background; I quickly put it together for the sake of the tutorial and that is not my true work.
I was going to redo the images when I got more time. -.-
