I'm not a professor etc, but I believe that Hoopa EX can search for megas as they are EX pokemon. Part of the hype with it is that you can play it, go search for something like ray EX, Mega Ray EX and Shaymin EX, play all of them at once then laugh at your opponent as you proceed to throw your deck at your opponent. I do not think that that hype would be possible if it was worded to not include megas etc.
