Besides, there are times when it is advantageous to NOT attach. (X-Ball, anyone?)

don()shinobi, I'm talking about 90 damage and opting to NOT attach any Energy. Since it's mandatory, how do you prove you don't have any basic Energy in the hand, other than revealing your hand or calling over a judge each time it's used to confirm?

Revealing your hand gives your opponent an unfair advantage. Let's say you just Pump-Up Smashed me and you had to show your hand to me. I see you're holding a Catcher in your hand. I was considering if I should play N or Juniper as my Supporter for the turn, but you just made the decision for me. N!

Making the energy attachment optional makes things a lot easier in the long run.
