2020 Standard Format Announced, Goes Into Effect Before Worlds!

Worlds was always the place where we could send our final goodbyes to old cards, and see some overpowered decks. Weird how pokemon chose for this.

Sooo weird! Worlds will be the first new standard's tournament for everyone! Everybody will be in the dark about what meta expect!

Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but doesn't this match up with Japan's newish regulation blocks? I do remember seeing that Crimson Invasion's in A block whilst Ultra Prism's in B Block...

Also, I couldn't help but notice this...
Starting with the 2020 season, cards from McDonald’s Collections will be legal in the Standard format if they’re functionally identical to a card that is currently legal in the Standard format. For example, Magnemite (McDonald’s Collection 2018, 8/12) is functionally the same card as Magnemite from Sun & Moon—Ultra Prism, so it can still be used in the Standard format.
So much for another season of Energy Evolution Eevee, that was something I had bittersweet feelings about.

This was unexpected!

This will give a good understanding of the meta coming after worlds since it will have top players engineering deck for the tournament.
Really interesting to see what people will do without zoroark, guzma, dce and many more important cards.

I could have sworn we had a rotation shortly before Worlds at least once before...

This is really mind blowing as the new format usually starts after worlds. So, without Guzma in the new format, is there no other trainer cards with gusting effects? The only card I can find is customer catcher. So, I better get me some of those gold customer catchers?!?
