Play! Pokemon Events to Remain Suspended Through End of 2020

TPCi has officially announced the continued suspension of all Play! Pokemon Program events throughout the remainder of 2020. All in-person events, including tournaments, Pokemon League, and Prerelease events remain suspended through the end of the year.

This news follows the cancellation of the 2020 season and suspension of sanctioned events back in March.

Since the initial announcement in March that all Play! Pokémon Program events would be cancelled, we’ve been closely monitoring the global health pandemic. In keeping with a commitment to ensure the safety of fans, players, and organizers, the Organized Play team is continuing to assess the situation. As of September 2020, we have determined that the Play! Pokémon Program will remain suspended through the remainder of 2020.

Please check back in November 2020 for more details and announcements regarding our Play! Pokémon program in early 2021.

In the meantime, Pokémon Trading Card Game players can continue to participate in League at Home events. We will also be providing additional details about a new Pokémon TCG Online series named Play! Pokémon Team Challenge launching later this year.

Until we can all play together in person again, stay safe and enjoy playing and battling online.

Players looking to continue to enjoy the Pokemon Trading Card game can do so playing the game on the Pokemon Trading Card Game Online and by joining local League at Home events.
