Worlds and 2020 Season Cancelled, Points Will Roll Over to Next Year

Pokemon has officially cancelled Worlds and the remainder of the 2020 season due to coronavirus.

All points and invitations from the 2020 season will roll over to the 2021 season.

TPCi also announced that Worlds will take place in London for 2021, as it was meant to be this year. This is the first time they have announced a Worlds location this early.

PokeBeach will be holding monthly PTCGO tournaments soon. We are currently working out the details, so stay tuned! These next few months will be the perfect time to improve your game from the comfort of your home.

2020 Pokémon Championship Series Canceled

The safety and well-being of our competitors, organizers, employees, local communities, and partners continues to be our top priority and is the primary consideration with every decision we make.

After careful review and pursuant to guidance set forth by local, regional, and national health authorities, as well as the World Health Organization, Public Health England, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 North America International Championships (scheduled for June 26–28 in Columbus, Ohio) and the 2020 Pokémon World Championships (scheduled for August 14–16 in London, United Kingdom).

With the cancellation of these pinnacle events, the 2020 Play! Pokémon Championship Series is suspended and all sanctioned Play! Pokémon events including League, Club, Prerelease, League Challenge, League Cup, Premier Challenge, and Midseason Showdown are canceled until further notice. No Championship Points will be awarded for the remainder of the season. Any points earned up to this point for the current Championship Series will roll over to the 2021 Play! Pokémon Championship Series. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of all our competitors at an expanded 2021 Pokémon World Championships in London. All invitations to the 2020 Pokémon World Championships will be honored for the 2021 World Championships. We are closely monitoring health mandates, guidelines, and recommendations from appropriate government agencies to determine when the resumption of events and operations will be safe for our communities. Further details are being actively worked on and we will communicate them with all of you as soon as they are finalized.

In the meantime, we want to thank our millions of players, fans, organizers, and Professors around the world for their continued support and understanding during these unique circumstances. The Pokémon International Championships and Pokémon World Championships are very special occasions for us, and we know how much they mean to the global Play! Pokémon community. We would like to recognize the hard work and dedication of all our competitors, Professors, and event organizers during the 2020 Play! Pokémon season. We hope that the spirit of friendship and community that are the hallmarks of our amazing fans and these events continue during this challenging time, and that you take care of yourselves and of each other. We can’t wait to see you and celebrate with you again.

seems it would stack, threshold would definitely change if they want to control the amount of players invited.
Most likely would be in August but not announced yet.

They wont if keep releasing sets would be too much of an imbalance if too many cards in play!

Stuck trying to get a refund on plane tickets right now. American Air is being dumb and refuses to give any type of refund even with COVID-19 going on worldwide.

    They just might.

It is important to remember things are a mess but not equally messy worldwide... or even nationwide someplace like the U.S.A.

Rebel Clash is probably too far along to "freeze" its release, but if they set after it is delayed, I could see it happen... and that would make freezing set rotation an easy option. If they keep releasing new sets, though, that creates a larger cardpool which is more difficult to manage. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't.

I want rotation to happen so I don't have to play against decks with Malamar or Oranguru in them.

Do we know if the points roll over means that we need more points to quialify? Like it was 350 here but it’s likely to be more now isn’t it cos of the rollover?
