I know there are like 3 people who care about glc, but holy fudge that shinx is amazing. Lightning already plays item lock luxio, several luxrays are good options, and the shinx instantly replaces any other because of the ability. Very neat. More stuff like this please.

If we get a decent to good Luxray ex that Shinx can be legitimately great. Use the ability, rare candy, wreck some havoc. Probably the best thing about ex's over EX/Tag Team GX/V's is that now going forward all evolving basics and stage 1's with decent abilities immediately have more potential.

Well then, it is official: If the Trading Card Game DO release a Raichu ex in the near future in the event of Pikachu ex being released in English, then the Raichu ex in question will read "Evolves from Pikachu or Pikachu ex" like Scizor ex and Blissey ex did in EX Unseen Forces regarding Scyther ex and Scyther and Chansey ex and Chansey respectively.

I think it's not official yet, though it could be the case. We got Eevee-GX alongside the Kanto Eeveelution GX cards, and they did not read "Evolves from Eevee or Eevee-GX". It depends on how "loyal" they'll be to the original ex cards I suppose.

I don’t see that Shinx will get much play. ability is good if it could work against Klefki but that Shinx has no ability when Klefki is on the active spot

That Pikachu ex could be good if Raichu ex can evolve from Pikachu ex too and not only from Pikachu when someday will be released

The auto-evolving Evolutionary Advantage Shinx has something to say about that. I'm probably still going to play that one.

I'm just gonna copy-paste this comment under every new Pok... oh wait, it's actually a Pikachu ex card, not a single-prizer. Well, the rule applies nonetheless, if you feel the need to design Pokemon that hit above their own HP, then their own HP should be higher.

To be fair, Pikachu does tend to be a glasscanon, because it's existence as a "competitive" Pokemon is already unrealistic.

I mean, yes, but the ability to go T1 item lock with evolutionary advantage Shinx is also reaaaally good

Why is the HP of Shinx only going down once time goes on? The first time a Shinx has gotten 40HP was Brilliant Stars. That's not how power creeping works.. The Ability is great on a basic sure, but what are they doing??

We've already had Pikachu GX and Raichu GX which could not evolve from each other, just consider the unseen forces example a mistake in the past.
Eevee-GX's ability even sets the precedent that they don't want things working like that

I agree generally speaking that HP needs to be going up for single-prizers and 30-40 HP should be nonexistent except for stuff like Magikarp, but it's somewhat understandable in light of it having a good Ability. That said, I doubt it would be overpowered if they gave it a bit more HP, so maybe they should've. In general, I'm very happy to see a good Ability on an evolving Basic and hope that this sort of thing happens more often.
