‘Tag All Stars’ Set Revealed in ‘CoroCoro!’

CoroCoro magazine has officially revealed High Class Pack 2019: Tag All Stars.

As posted before, the set will release in Japan on October 4th and contain 173 cards. In April the trademark for the set name was discovered and in June the set was announced in retailer listings.

As I speculated back in April, the set will mostly contain reprints from the Sun & Moon era, as with other “High Class Pack” sets like The Best of XY. CoroCoro now confirms this by only showing reprinted cards. The set name and booster pack imply the set will contain all the TAG TEAM Pokemon released so far.

The set will also contain some new cards, like Togepi & Cleffa & Igglybuff-GX. Any new cards will become part of our Cosmic Eclipse set in November. Past “High Class Pack” sets have only included a few new cards, as they are “reprint sets” intended to give players a chance to get important cards from the past several sets in one place.

Some less reputable outlets stated the set would for sure contain shiny Pokemon, but this was never stated by official sources nor reported here. If this was another “shiny set,” there would be shiny Pokemon on the booster pack. The set should mostly be straight-up reprints.

On a related note, Japan is probably “stalling” with this set so our release schedule can catch up to theirs. Check out my speculative article on why I think worldwide card releases will be coming to the Pokemon TCG next year.

Update: The official Japanese Pokemon-Card website has officially revealed the set. They will release more information on September 20th.
