Latias & Latios-GX Tag Team Revealed from SM9!

Absolutely nobody saw this one coming! A new Latias & Latios-GX Tag Team card will be in SM9, and it is yet again drawn by Mitsuhiro Arita. Thanks goes to tunu for the translation!

Latias & Latios-GX – Dragon – HP250
Basic Pokemon (TAG TEAM)

[W][P][P][C] Buster Purge: 240 damage. Discard 3 Energy from this Pokemon.

[P]+ Aero Unit GX: Attach 5 basic Energy cards from your discard pile to your Pokemon in any way you like. If this Pokemon has at least 1 extra Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack’s cost), prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokémon during your opponent’s next turn. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

Weakness: Fairy (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

The English version of the card will probably be revealed today. It’ll be #113/181 and will be part of our Tag Team set, releasing in February.

Update: The English version has been revealed!

This will be good in Malamar

Ultimately the same thing as Ultra Necrozma but opponent takes 3 prizes instead of 2 so I doubt it will be played in Malamar any time soon (Ultra Necrozma's attack even does 20 extra damage). I don't think the extra HP is a trade off that's very much worth it. Its need for 1 Water Energy attached ruins its chances to even be a 1-of in Gaskan.

This card is #60, and Dragonite is #65.
So we will have two Dratini and two Dragonair, or we will have another Dragon type Tag Team and two Dratini and one Dragonair.

A legendary pokemon duo becoming Tag Team Gx, I dont think you could say nobody saw it coming, is not that surprising, if they make something like Illumase & Volbeat Tag Team Gx that will be really unexpected

PS: I want a good Solrock & Lunatone Tag Team Gx

Sad, was hoping for a Metal and Fairy tag team in Febs set, now we only have one left to be revealed.

Dragon type is beyond boring to me.

Rainbow Energy + Acerola in a malamar deck, seems pretty good. However Gardevoir GX and Granbull decks will keep it in check. Seems balanced.

There's quite likely a Dragon-type Alolan Exeggutor in this set. 2 Dratini, 1 Dragonair, 1 Dragonite would match up with what's typical in other sets anyway.

Remember, there's also the Alolan Exeggutor from the booster box, that could be a Dragon-type!

Nidoqueen + Malamar is enough, you dont need to play Nidoking, 3 malamar and Nidorinas/Nidoqueens on the bench can reach the 200 easily

Yep, Nidoking is outclassed by Nidoqueen. :[
