All ‘GX Ultra Shiny’ Cards!

GX Ultra Shiny won’t release until November 2nd, but the official site has revealed all normal cards from the set!

‘GX Ultra Shiny’ Normal Cards

Most of the set is straight up reprints. Some cards are alternate type reprints with new artwork. Very few cards are brand new.

Remember, none of the reprinted cards will “reset” the card legality anymore. The current theory is that in the future, Japanese tournaments will be marking card legality by the “A” or “B” on the bottom of the cards (and eventual C, D, F, etc.). All of the reprinted cards in this set have the “A” or “B” of their original set rather than the “B” of the current set block, further proving the theory. We also believe Japan and the rest of the world will soon have synced card legalities.

New Cards

Lycanroc-GX will be in our Team Up set in February, so the rest of these might be as well. Keep checking back for translations!

Shaymin Prism Star – Grass – HP80

[F] Radial Edge GX: 30x damage. This attack does 30 damage times the number of Energy cards in your opponent’s discard pile. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Grass (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Cosmog – Psychic – HP60
Basic Pokemon

Ability: Cosmo Guard
As long as this Pokemon is on your Bench, prevent all damage done to this Pokemon by attacks.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).

Grass Memory – Trainer
Item

Pokemon Tool: Attach a Pokemon Tool to 1 of your Pokemon that doesn’t already have a Pokemon Tool attached to it.

The Silvally-GX this card is attached to is a [G] Pokemon.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).

Fairy Charm UB – Trainer
Item

Pokemon Tool: Attach a Pokemon Tool to 1 of your Pokemon that doesn’t already have a Pokemon Tool attached to it.

The Pokemon this card is attached to doesn’t take damage from the attacks of your opponent’s Ultra Beasts that are Pokemon-GX or Pokemon-EX. (Why it covers EX Ultra Beasts is unknown.)

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).

Ingo & Emmet – Trainer
Supporter

Look at the top card of your deck, then put it back. Choose 1:

– Discard your hand and draw 5 cards from the top of your deck.

– Discard your hand and draw 5 cards from the bottom of your deck.

You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).

Morgan – Trainer
Supporter

This card can’t be played unless you discard Dana, Evelyn, and Nita from your hand.

Look at the top 12 cards of your deck. Attach as many Energy cards you find there to your Pokemon in any way you like. Then, shuffle the remaining cards into your deck.

You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).

Dana – Trainer

Search your deck for 2 cards and put them into your hand.

You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).

Evelyn – Trainer
Supporter

Draw 4 cards.

You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).

Nita – Trainer
Supporter

Choose an Energy attached to your opponent’s Active Pokemon. Your opponent puts it on top of their deck.

You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).

Wonder Labyrinth Prism Star – Trainer
Stadium

You can’t have more than 1 Prism Star card with the same name in your deck. If a Prism Star card would go to the discard pile, put it in the Lost Zone instead.

Each player’s Pokemon (excluding [Y] Pokemon) pays [C] more to use its attacks.

As long as this Stadium is in play, whenever a player uses an Item or Supporter card from their hand, prevent all effects of those cards done to this Stadium.

This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can’t play this card.

‘GX Ultra Shiny’ Secret Rares

The set will have at least 90 secret rares, the largest for any English or Japanese set in history. Only a few of them have been revealed so far. The rest will be revealed next week. We’re not yet sure how these cards will be released in America.

Update: Shiny versions of Rowlet from Sun and Moon, Dartrix from Sun and Moon, and Decidueye-GX from Sun and Moon Black Star Promos have been revealed! The pre-evolutions will even have the secret rare GX card texture!

Update #2: The set’s reverse holos will look like this Eevee. As posted before, each 10 card booster pack will come with a Pokemon-GX.

Update #3: Those who purchase two booster boxes of the set from stores that hold Gym tournaments will receive a case for storing playmats.

Maybe Tag Bolt(Team Up! internationally) will get no prism stars in Jap, but since the prism stars came from GX Ultra Shiny, since the cards are new cards, in English, we'll get them in Team Up!, and that will be all the Prim Stars we'll ever get...

They've thrown in Seviper, Lucario and Celesteela in this set but don't even give them the alternate arts that we got as prerelease promos. Wonder if Japan will ever get them, along with the many others. They still don't even have Raikou GX, Tornadus GX and Thudurus GX yet.

Wasn't it in a previous post regarding this set that stated every booster pack will have a guaranteed Pokemon GX card?

If so this set is huge for making the game more affordable. A lot of good GXs in here.

Never been a giant fan of them, but still it's a shame they only lasted five sets.

Holy crap I love this set! I really hope it comes to the west. Also, do reprint sets usually mean that the generation is soon coming to an end?

The new trainer cards look amazing! Though it's a shame N didn't get reprinted :(

Fairy is starting to look really good with this set though. Anti-Ultra Beast Charm is kind of huge, but at the same time I'm not certain it's needed when you can just play the Fairy version of anti-GX Alolan Ninetales to stop all GX Pokemon since if you're playing something like a Gardevoir GX deck, you're techning in Alolan Ninetales GX from Fairy Rise anyway.

It's mostly that Stadium that's pretty huge. Making everyone else need 1 more energy to attack is pretty massive, but decks seem to run a standard of 3 stadiums minimum nowadays, so it's kind of easy to get rid of.

They might've clarified "EX Ultra Beasts" on the Fairy Charm either because they just wanted to copy and paste the same template from the previous Fairy Charms, or they might've been preemptively covering themselves in case they ever end up printing an "Ultra Beast Badge" or something (like the old Team Plasma Badge, but "the Pokemon this card is attached to is now an Ultra Beast")

It's a little hard to see but the shiny Rowlet and Dartrix definitely have texture akin to the Shining Legends shinies. Just that little extra detail is so nice--I'm REALLY excited now, I really hope we get these in the west.

It's pretty unprecedented for a new era to refer to a retired mechanic – i.e. that the SuMo cards have continued to refer to EX cards, even having replaced it with GXes, is not really something we've seen before. This might hint that rather than retiring EXes or GXes, never to be seen again, they may leave the EX mechanic as an option on the table to use again in the future.

Why they'd do that, I don't really follow, but since this is the same block that brought back the retired Lost Zone mechanic without so much as renaming it, they may be trying to future-proof the TCG so that the expanded format is more viable/coherent (power creep will always kill it, though).

An aside; I think this set is as close to the 'North American style' as I've seen the Japanese sets get – i.e., no cohesive theme, blatantly money grabby (yeah, the card selection is pretty good, but you're buying it for the SRs) and pretty disappointing to see, imo.

Ingo & Emmet are pretty good.

    Wonder Labyrinth Prism is nuts!

Shaymin Prism is good for Rayquaza GX

    That is all.
