Luxray and Volkner from SM5!

A new Luxray and Volkner Supporter will appear in SM5 Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, or Ultra Prism as the set will be named in English. Thanks goes to Jake C. for their translations!

As long as this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, any damage done to this Pokemon by an opponent’s attack is reduced by 30 (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

[L][L][C] Voltage Arrow: Discard all [L] Energy attached to this Pokemon. This attack does 150 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.)

Volkner is the eighth Sinnoh Gym Leader and Luxray is his signature Electric-type Pokemon.

Looks like there’s an Ultra Wormhole in the background of Luxray’s artwork. I wonder if it’s appearing over Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh or if it’s just a generic mountain.

Volkner’s card uses his Ken Sugimori stock artwork, which was also used on Volkner's Philosophy from Rising Rivals back in 2009. Kinda lazy…

SM5 will release in Japan on December 8th and internationally on February 3rd.
