Celebi’s Mythical Pokemon Collection Available Today, Release Dates Changed? By: Water Pokémon Master Posted 5 years ago to TCG 16 comments The release date for Celebi’s Mythical Pokemon Collection has officially moved up to March 1st in the United States (not Europe). You can find it at Gamestop stores and possibly other retailers right now. Each Mythical Pokemon Collection comes with a promo, a pin, and two Generations booster packs. Buy it on Buy it on Buy it on Buy it on Buy it on Buy it on It is unknown if the release dates of the other Mythical Pokemon Collection will also be adjusted or if we were going off the wrong set of dates (I believe I originally went off Europe’s release dates, but this seems to be the one time where Europe and the U.S. won’t be synced). Since the associated Mythical Pokemon will be distributed on the 1st of each month in the United States, it would make sense to release each collection on the 1st as well. Here’s the release schedule for the Pokemon’s game distributions in the U.S., as I posted a while ago: Mew: February 1 – 24, 2016 at GameStop Celebi: March 1 – 24, 2016 at Nintendo Network Jirachi: April 1 – 24, 2016 at Nintendo Network Darkrai: May 1 – 24, 2016 at GameStop Manaphy: June 1 – 24, 2016 at Nintendo Network Shaymin: July 1 – 24, 2016 at Nintendo Network Arceus: August 1 – 24, 2016 at GameStop Victini: September 1 – 24, 2016 at Nintendo Network Keldeo: October 1 – 24, 2016 at Nintendo Network Genesect: November 1 – 24, 2016 at GameStop Meloetta: December 1 – 24, 2016 at Nintendo Network And here’s the release dates for the Mythical Pokemon Collections I also posted forever ago, which may only apply to Europe: What we’ve now learned is that the Mew Box is only the first of eleven boxes that will be released next year. Yes, eleven! Each month, a new box will be released featuring a different Mythical Pokemon. February 22nd will see the release of the Mew Box, March 16th is Celebi, April 13th is Jirachi, May 18th is Darkrai, June 15th is Manaphy, July 13th is Shaymin, August 17th is Arceus, September 14th is Victini, October 12th is Keldeo, November 16th is Genesect, and December 7th (over a year from now!) is Meloetta. Each box will cost $12.99. If Jirachi is released on the 1st next month, we’ll know America’s Mythical Pokemon Collections are on a “1st” schedule whereas Europe is on a “middle of the month-ish” schedule.
I'm glad I didn't have my mind set on getting all of these. None of the local GameStops or other stores had the Mew box on/near its release date. I could only find it online at Walmart, but the price had nearly doubled. I was wanting to try my luck with the Generations boosters included, but in the end just ordered the single Mew card on eBay. :/ (On the plus side, my Mew collection is up to 21 cards!)
Me too I went to toys r us on Pokemon day but all the mew boxes where sold. If the same thing happens to Shaymin I will cry. #First Shaymin land in format
I just got mine from Gamestop today. The worker at the store told me each store received 4 boxes to sell and they were gone relatively quickly. I got the last one at the store I was at and gave up after that.
Here's a link to the official website that has all the release dates, just click on each box and in the description that comes up it tells you the release dates. They are all around the 1st of each month, except for a couple which are the 2nd or 3rd. http://www.pokemon20.com/en-us/products.html#tcg/ I am seeing a preorder for Celebi box in Canada for Mar 2 release date. I saw another one that said released on Mar 18. So I'm not sure if the new dates are for Canada too. I will check my local ToysR Us this weekend. It's pathetic that EB Games only gets 4 boxes per store. Is this deliberate on TPCI's part, or buyers at EB Games don't know what they are doing?
I simply got the Mew one for the sake of Pokemon Day. But Since I live in Canada I have no interest in collecting these at all. Too overpriced, and the Energy Card Ratio is Awful. Then there's the really poor rarity choices of this set. I'd rather them be released on their own at this point because there should be no reason they are the price that they are.
I'm right there with you, buddy. I was actually planning to get all the Mythical Boxes because I like the full arts and the pins (and am missing a lot of the Generations cards)... but that was because I was expecting the American prices or a slight increase. Canadian prices of $26 + tax from the CHEAPER places around me is just ridiculous and I can't afford to drop all that cash. I'll spend the money elsewhere. Too bad really. We get screwed on prices (and venues for that matter) then they wonder why Pokémon doesn't get picked up as much North of the border...
Exactly! There's a severe over-charge for these. I really hope the Charizard box doesn't get this treatment either. I held off on buying the Gyarados box (much to my constant hating myself for it.... ) for now because it's way too much money. The severe lack of good promo cards at League (Which, TPCI if you're reading this: FIX IT ) makes the TCG hard to get into. My expanded deck is already good the way it is right now, and I refuse to play Standard because of how badly Standard decks do without Shaymin. I feel buying new cards has no purpose because at the end of the day: I've got good stuff, and the only changes I'd make are in the low cost trainer and supporter cards. Whenever I buy new packs I just give stuff to friends or put them in a box to sell. I'm sick of how bad the TCG is right now. I'm so glad there's an increase in VG Players here because unless the TCG match is expanded: I honestly don't care for the TCG at all. There's so many people turning their noses up to it lately: unnecessary prices for product, lack of good TCG League Support, Terrible Code Cards at League, and an extremely money-driven metagame are all reasons people have chosen to opt to play the Video Game more.
I actually called my local GameStop today and I asked about the celebi box and they asked for my number so they could call and reserve one for me when they got them in. I eventually went and picked it up and they only had three of them (including mine). The main point of this is as I was cashing out the lady told me I could put $5 down for the next box (jirachi) and they would reserve it when they get them. So this could be really helpful for the people looking to complete the collection or even trying to get some Generations packs. Oh and they also told me the Jirachi box would be coming out on April 1st.
Man, this just had to come out today and fly under my radar so that I wouldn't get one. Everywhere is sold out around here.
Reading all these threads about American shortages really makes me glad that I can just preorder mine from my local game store with no fuss. They did sell out of the Mew boxes pretty quickly, so I've made mental notes to myself to actually preorder the boxes I want, and I've already done so for the Charizard-EX box now too.
Brazilian Mythical Collection will be released as Triple Packs. Each one will contain 3 Generations Booster Pack with 6 cards each (Brazilian regular packs have 5 cards each). http://www.copag.com.br/pokemon/os-...mpaign=divulga-blog&utm_content=post-12-02-16
I had to call a few stores to find one that had a Celebi box in stock. Definitely gonna pre-order 2x Charizard boxes to make sure I can get one. I pulled a Charizard-EX and simply cannot believe the market asking price for this card is $30--$50. The card isn't really super playable (unless you're that kid that has a deck with ALL CHARIZARD BECAUSE I LOVE CHARIZARD you know that kid). This is what happens when you release a new set just in overpriced special packs rather than normal boosters.
I had to call multiple GameStop's in my area just to track a single Celebi box down (Then had them hold it for me) and when i got there, they had already sold it. I felt betrayed, but then i quickly remembered how badly GameStop treats there customers.
A new story has just been posted to PokéBeach's front page: 'Generations' Elite Trainer Box! Posts you make after this point will immediately appear on the front page and vice versa. Discuss!
Thank god. If I had to keep spending $13 bucks on each of these Mythical Collections for the rest of the year my wallet would cry.
This is incredible news - let's hope it's released in the US so I'm not dropping $13 for two packs anymore.
So, is this actually coming to the United States? Or is this Japan only? I don't see a release date anywhere yet.
