Kabutops L.56 – Fighting – HP120
Stage 2 – Evolves from Kabuto

Poke-Body: Ancient Shell
As long as Kabutops is your Active Pokemon, your opponent can’t play any Trainer cards from his or her hand.

[F][F][C] Chop Apart: 70 damage. This attack also does 10 damage to each of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon that already has damage counters on it.

Weakness: Grass (+30)
Resistance: none

I don't know if you've seen this yet, but it's a new Vileplume EX, sor of.
It's body locks all trainer cards from coming into play. I'm pretty sure this means trainer cards, such as QuickBall, Rare Candy, Pokenav, Pokeball, or Great Ball, to name a few. Plus, it does 70 for three, plus 10 to each benched with damage on it. Plus 120HP! Can any one say "broken".

GREAT, Another broken card!!!
IMO, this card will probably go into a sniping deck OR combo it with something that can snipe, preferably Prinplup. Since Prinplup is just a Stage 1 pokemon, it can come out & snipe first & then let Kabutops KO everything... :D

a stage 2 non ex's attack needs 3 energy for 70 and 10 to some of the bench nearly = flygon ex d.......good body.....insane

Prinplup? What about Lucario? Or Absol EX? Or Cactrune d?

Why does everyone insist that this card is broken?
It isnt, it is good, but hardly broken
Here is why it isnt broken

1. He doesnt lock in stadiums
Locking in stadiums was one of the best things about trainer lock, and now that you cant do it, he kinda loses some of his magic
2. One attack
Thats it, thats all he does
Thats the reason Flygon ex d wasnt broken, because he just did one thing

Honestly, its like people were saying about how "Broken" Shiftry ex cg or Metagross ex pk was
They arent, they are just very good.

i don't think it's THAT broken..i mean if you combo it with prinplup..sure it's nice..but have you seen other cards?
they can do around 100 dmg for 3 anergies (eg. Rampardos and Machamp (DP))
but the poke body is kinda nice..blocking trainers=no mor erare candy..and that hurts..
but it won't be able to block the new supporters cuz it says supporter instaed of trainer on the card...
oh and i think based on all the NEWer cards..120 hp is just average..bu tif you compare to the EX series..then yea..it's ALOT

Kabutops DP4 is a very interesting card, but by no means broken. First off, he's a Fossil Pokemon, and Fossils tend to be hard to get out. Second, his Power only stops regular Trainer cards. While that is good in and of itself (no Rare Candies, Balls, Pokemon Tools, Windstorms, or PlusPowers), it doesn't stop Supporters or Stadiums. It may force more players to put Stadiums in their decks, however, if Kabutops gets too popular. The attack is nice, but needs something to put damage counters on benched Pokemon in order to realize its full potential. SW Ampharos, with its Poke-Body that places damage counters on each of your opponent's Pokemon when he/she uses a Supporter card from his/her hand, may be a good combo w/this Kabutops.

That actually would be perfect. Force them to use a supporter to place damage on them and then Kabutops damages them.

Ignoring the fact that you are using two stage two's, one of whom is a fossil, it is a rather nice idea.

Kabutops is good, but will need some set up to show it's true power. Prinplup or Claydol (HP) would be useful for that all important damage spread, then Chop Apart like there's no tomorrow! Of course, there is a tech that could be great, Omastar (DP4). Just a small line will do, but well timed, it will be powerful.

It stops trainer cards only but Supporter cards can still be played or Stadium cards can still be played. It is not broken really because it does damage to the bench as well as the active Pokemon. There are other cards with similar attacks that do the same thing but they are not broken. They make the cards that way so that way you can make decks virtually unstoppable.:)

but when combined with ampharos it is broken

Hardly
Getting both Ampharos and Kabutops out on the field at the same time will be no easy task, and most decks will have easily set up by then
Getting two stage two's out normaly would just be slow, getting two when one if a fossil pokemon will be a bloody pain

The Dome Fossil that comes out in DP4 will help Kabutops immensely. Attach a Fighting Energy to it and you can evolve it into Kabuto from your deck, which helps it immensely. With the right mix of other cards (Kabuto PK, Fossil Excavator and possibly Relicanth DP4), it could be very playable.

vibrava (hopefully sw) will change this card for the better. type synergy and 2 beastly cards + smaller trainer lock.... yikes
