Stage 2 decks officially dead?

Ahh, the good old days. Building up such beast in a slower time actually makes you feel more proud, seeing that tanks such as Blastoise and Tyranitar will rise agian. In my opinion, this rule change didnt kill Stage 2 decks. It resurected them. Other than Mewgar, tell me a good Non-evolving deck? Without SPs running rampant and the fall of Gyarados, I love P!P for doing this, it just made the game fair. I mean, Rare Candy with Prof Elm, your set. Now I just have to mourn the loss of Bebes and Uxie....

I really think Stage 2 Decks will be more popular. Reason is this:

They are the only decent decks after rotation.
So Beartic, Donphan, Cinccino, Zekrom, Scizor Prime, Yanmegga Prime, and Steelix Prime aren't decent decks?? That's some amazing thought right there guys, class A post.

My only reason for saying that was to state that Stage 2 decks arent dead. And what you say is very true. I forgot about the main decks next rotation. I hate to tell you though, Cinccino, is not a deck. A tech maybe, but not a deck.

I'm also using Zekrom so it's funny I sad that at all.

Steelix, Scizor, Cinccino, and Donphan barely meet what we will see in Stage 2s? Need I remind you that Donphan can wall far beyond his 120 HP, Steelix has more HP than most Stage 2s in existence, and Scizor laughs at anything with Spec Dark/Metal/DCE?

I don't think so...
Scizor Prime has nothing on Tyranitar Prime, especially when Power Claw's effect gets around it's Poke-Body Red Armor. I learned that the hard way playing against a Steelix Prime deck with Scizor Prime in it, had I known Power Claw got around Red Armor I would've won. :p

^My point was that there are perfectly feasible non-Stage 2 decks out there, and after the rotation they will still be strong contenders in the format. I'm very well aware of how beastly TTar Prime can be, don't you worry. (I've played against it about 10 times...and won every single time, though not without escaping injury.)

I'll admit it's a little slower but nothing too game changing.

im with you on that one. The thing is, everybody got slowed down to an extent.

we will see the rise of stantler and pokégear :p

I used to be anti stantler.. But with the new format, one of my deck builds is going to use alot of Absol prime.. So stantler is cool now.
it also makes twins more playable. But pokégear will let you draw into the elm's muuuuch easier. It'll really be like, from out of 'ing nowhere, stantler is a starter. Call energy much?

I will be running a blastigatr as my other deck.. But I think that it'll be such a popular deck option, that we'll also see alot of raichu decks. Or other considerably fast electrics.

If Blastoise becomes a huge threat then expect Laturn Prime & Amphy prime to make a scene in the new format. Lanturn Prime might be the better choice as it will have an easier time combating Donphan Prime due to its power enabling it to change into a {W} type.

Twins will definately see more play and maybe Black Belt once Pokemon Catcher enters the format

YOU are forget two 130 basic pokemon. Zekrom has the ability to donk turn one with the combo of pachirisu and shaymin, and i seen a reshiram zekrom haymaker deck it was awesome

I saw it all the time when people would tech in a machamp. Machamp donks or sweeps against my Arceus deck were no fun.

donks will still happen, but haymakers will happen more imo.

The only possible donk I see happening next format would be Zekrom Donk & Pachirisu Donk w/Plus Powers.

How is it a tech? It's a side-attacker... a tech is something like, Dewgong SV to counter Donphan, or Dragonite FB to counter against SP mirror matches.

What is weak to Colorless next rotation? >_> What the heck can Cincinno be teched against? It's not a tech - it's a side-attacker. A tech is a counter - Cincinno does not counter anything.

cincinno does the wave, right? It almost counters jumpluff, but jumpluff counters it better. Grunpig will be a wave counter. So, yes, cincinno is a deck and not a tech.

Jeeze I cant seem to say anything right >_>. RDL, Dragonite TR, Altaria TR were the only things I thought of that's weak to it. Which may get used in the next rotation. But your right, I used the wrong term to say it though.

My point still stands that it cant be a deck on its lonesome.

My original thought's is yes Cinccino would be a tech for Garchomp and Dragonite.

After rotation I look at it more as an extra attacker that is easy to get out and does a lot of damage.

BTW - how does Grumpig stop do the wave?

Second attack = Bench Manipulation. Your opponent flips one coin for each of his Benched Pokemon, and the attack does 40 x # of tails.

Oh ok, I thought he meant it can stop do the wave.

I don't really see it as a counter though as every deck pretty much uses all it's bench space so bench manipulation is always a good attack not just a counter to cinccino.

The other big thing is Bench Manipulation takes two energy drops and Wave only one, so a revenge KO is much easier.

grumpig doesn't nescisarily stop it, just has a good chance of OHKO'ing it is all. It's first attack is good against a blastigatr deck tho :)

Stage 2 decks should still be ok when the format slows down some but I do fear for Stage 1 decks because most Stage 1 guys have low hp to start with and having to wait a turn to evolve will just hurt.

Lolwut, it's the same with Stage 2 decks. You still have to wait a turn to use Rare Candy...

Not to mention Stage 2 decks will be more clunkier than Stage 1 decks (I'm talking about Yanmega Prime & Donphan Prime here). Stage 1 decks will be much more consistent than most other decks out there.
