“Temporal Forces” Releasing in March, Another Near-Simultaneous Release with Japan?
We can exclusively reveal March’s English SV5 set will be named Scarlet & Violet: Temporal Forces. The set logo hasn’t been revealed yet.
Temporal Forces will officially release on March 22nd. Prereleases will take place from March 9th to 17th.
In the past we would normally get a new set in February, but the release of January’s special Paldean Fates means SV5 will be pushed to March. However, we should be back on schedule with May’s SV6 set.
Our Temporal Forces set will be based on Japan’s upcoming Wild Force & Cyber Judge, which will be dual sets releasing on January 26th. Based on their names, we speculated they would feature Walking Wake ex (Ancient) and Iron Leaves ex (Future). Their release will be accompanied by two “Starter Deck & Build Sets” that are confirmed to feature a new Koraidon ex (Ancient) and Miraidon ex (Future).
Our set might also be based on Japan’s upcoming Crimson Haze set, which will release on March 22nd. It will feature new Pokemon from The Teal Mask.
Both our Temporal Forces set and Japan’s Crimson Haze set will release on March 22nd. If our English set does feature Crimson Haze, this would be yet another English set releasing the same week as a Japanese set it’s based on. The same situation occurred with Obsidian Flames and Paradox Rift, our last two sets.
In other words, this could be another English set featuring a chunk of cards that released in Japan a few months prior, then the rest is made up of cards releasing in Japan around the same time. If this pattern continues, this would mean our English set would “sync” with Japan’s sets every three months (with some exceptions, as some of our cards are cut).
Because of Paradox Rift prereleases, some of the secret rares were revealed before Japan opened them in their Ancient Roar & Future Flash boxes the following week. This could also be the case for Temporal Forces. We may see the secret rares from the set on March 9th during prereleases, then Japan will begin to open their Crimson Haze booster boxes two weeks later.
If these near-simultaneous releases continue, the entire world will get to play with a chunk of brand new cards around the same time.
