Why you should be careful in choosing your name!

Many people seem to always want to change their names! Well, I say that you should take your time in choosing a name for yourself here in Pokebeach. This is how you can be remembered, the whole thing of name changing is like changing your identity. Most of you write threads in this forum(Site Discussion) like, "Name changed? :(," or " Change my name!!." Please people, make the jobs of the Moderators easier to do. They have a life to live. So take caution and carefully choose your name and password.
 
I changed my name around five times. I really feel sorry for Porygon, who had much work with changing it and can't say, he isn't the best Mod of PokéBeach Forums. He did it every time I requested it...

Some of us just feel like changing name. Why would I be Deoxys, if I don't play Pokemons (changed to Shadow_Hunter). I started to get bored with Shadow_Hunter, so I've became a NerdyPerson. I was nerd that time (I still am, but drooling took over me, so I kinda miss nerdy life). Then I got bored of being like Noobnerd (that time without Senor), so I became PorygonZ. Why? It was a big joke. Then I just didn't feel like it is funny anymore to be exactly like others, so I became Deoxys again. I had c-m avatar. Deoxys didn't last for a long time, second time. I felt like being something, nobody was yet (every 2nd member is a Pokemon :F). I felt like being DROOLER (drooling was popular before I changed my name. I just raised the popularity. c-m is the inventor!). :F. So Porygon changed my nick to -:F-. It was a bit weird with - and I invented character Dr. Ooler so I became Dr. Ooler :F.

Ok, that has nothing to do with that topic, but I had to say, that some of us just get bored of one name, so we change it (well... mods do...). I even like that nobody knows who I am. I mentioned that few times before...

Seriously people. I have never changed my name because I chose a name that I knew I liked. Give the mods a break and pick a good name the first time.
 
I don't see what the big deal is anyway... I changed my name several times and so far I never thought it'll be a big problem to anyone. Ok, Porygon had some work with me, but if he'd have no time or something, I guess he'd just say, that I shouldn't request name-changing so often. PMJ (I heard that somewhere) said, that he can change name up to 2 times/year, so you should just respect his choice and don't bother him more times.

I just change many times. Totally change. before a year I had short hair, was nerdy, thought life is good,... Look at me now. I have long hair, am not that nerdy anymore, I know that life is pain... Totally different person. So I change my nickname. Because I don't think the way I did before.

Lol, I changed my name by changing from armaldoEX to ArmaldoEX to make it sound more formal. :F HolyStar gladly did it for me. =] I would say that changing names are fine, once in a while. Changing a name a few times in a week or even a day is too much, obviously.
 
I'm gunna keep my name for a while, I like being known as "CarnivneCreator123123"
....But on the other hand, It is alot to type when I'm logging in....

You don't have to sign in evertime you come here. On my computer, I have it so that I am automatically signed in each time I come here. I'm not sure if that's a forum feature or something my computer offers, though.

Indeed it is too much, but I don't think anyone changed his/her name more then once in a week... No ... even I didn't. I think I am a recorder in a name-changing...

Yes, you do hold the record in name changes. I still see you as being NerdyPerson. That is why it is imporant to rarely change your username. I think the acceptable limit to change your username should be once a year, but that's just my opinion.
 
I actually came in here not knowing anything about Forums. I didn't even know they existed before I came into this one. I just used what I always use for username. If you go onto Pokemon Crater I actually used the same name. It's just that's what I am always called......Bubba......so I use it. Sorry if this is off subject. But I think that the name you start out with should be the name you stick with.

Ok, my question... Is it so hard to change a name (on the free forums it takes less then 30 seconds and I don't think here is any different, if it is, it sure isn't harder)? Or is there a second reason... Like ... Can't remember any... Maybe ... if you were a bad trader, you can change your nickname and nobody will know, that it is the same guy. That's why you should have written in your sig what was your nick before changed. But I don't trade, so I don't think anything is wrong if I don't write it in my sig. Maybe ... people just know you as some nick and if you change it... they don't know you:
1. Is there anything wrong if people don't know you?
2. Then eve one change per a lifetime would be too much (except for those like armaldoEX to ArmaldoEX,...)

Sorry for not adding something... Changing the first letter in your name to being Capatalised is ok. However, completely changing your name into something totally different is out of my subject. If you didn't understand me, this is an example:
"armaldo ex" into "Armaldo Ex."

Give the Mods a rest, they have too much to do already.
 
We can't get this to appear in front of every member who signs up, can we? It'll be good for the page where they choose their username... However, it can't really apply much for the forum itself, since all the members already have their names. >.>
 
If there is a feature for members to change their names, it'll be chaos of confusion. A person could go from *Name* to another and another. By the end of the day, he'll be known as "noob who changes their name a lot". =p This name changing thing, IMO, should be limited to Admin and Mods.
 
Agree! But not only Super Mods and Admins, but Mods (normal) as well...
I still don't think there should be rule, how many times, can you change your name...

If you really did do something like that, all you'd have to do is put a limit on it. To tell you the truth, I don't know what you guys are discussing. Yeah, chose your name carefully but... that's as far as I've figured out. :x

Twice per year, WPM stated that rule earlier this year...
 
So there is a rule...? Where is it written? It's not that I don't believe you, I'd just like to see it with my own eyes. If it really is so... I should be banned. :F

If you don't log out you will stay singed in for ever on a computer ...


Such for the name ... I never ever change my nickname ... only on MSN I did it sometimes ... couse I'd like for people too rebember me if I do something good ... :D ...
