Inserting Polls
You might have noticed some threads have polls. Well, if you had made the thread, you can insert a poll. When making a thread, at the bottom, there would be a picture like this:
Follow the instructions.
Inserting Attachments
Each post can also have an attachment added to it. As you can see, at the bottom of this very post, there is a thing that says "Thumbnails" and there is a small picture there that links to a bigger picture. Size limit is 500kb. To insert an attachment, when making a post/thread, look near the bottom and you should see this:
Click "Browse" to upload a picture in from your computer.
To cap up this section, you CAN use more than one code for a certain text, like bold and italic, but it does not work for all.
Spam
This is extremely important. The veteran members will get annoyed by you and you'll get warnings immediately. Most mods do not give chances, even to newbies. Although there are warnings, if you have read the rules. You may know what spam is, but it may be different from PokeBeach.com's defintion of spam. According to some other members, spam is going off topic, short meaningless post that have no sense at all, either to the current topic or just rubbish. Spam is not, old stuff e.g. Something about the first movie. Spam is also making many threads in a short time span. Please space out your posting. Short posts like "I agree with you" or "Oh" or "Sorry" are also considered spam.
DRK176: The best way to avoid spamming is to make topics that are open-ended, where people can reply and add their opinion. If you find that your threads are being closed for not warranting enough discussion, try making a broader topic that includes the original topic that you posted.
Threads (Reviving, double posting)
If a thread is two weeks old, YOU MUST NOT POST ON IT. I repeat, YOU MUST NOT POST ON IT! Otherwise, it will be locked. If you really really really want to talk about it, make a new thread. Read this for an explanation. Some people still do not get it. BUT if there is already another thread with the same topic, DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT IT because it is considered to be spam and you are depriving the other person of their thread's popularity.
However, there are three kinds of threads you can revive. Stickied threads (important threads), My Player threads (in the Wi-Fi League) and Trade Threads (in the Trading Corner). These are the only exceptions. All other threads will be locked uness it is really important (a serious bump is needed, please give an explanation).
Also, do not double post. This seems to be less of a problem. The moderators do not take it too harshly, but please refrain from it as much as possible. Try to use the edit button instead, which can be found at the bottom of every single one of your posts in an open thread..
Flaming/Trolling
Flaming can also be called trolling. Members insult each other, on any forum, quite often. Of course, it can be an accident or on purpose. But members often retaliate and start a flame war. This is what mods do not want. Most of you will get your post edited or deleted. Also refrain from using vulgarities. It will damage not only your reputation, but the entire forum's. Think about others. In order to prevent a flame war if you have been insulted, use the report button, and a moderator will handle it.
DRK176: We will not tolerate flaming whatsoever, and it will quickly lead to warnings and bans. We want our forums to be friendly so that people are not afraid of posting out of the fear of being insulted. If someone directs an insult at you, do not insult them back. If you see a flame war in progress or an insult to another member, please use the Report Button as soon as possible before more peoples' feelings are hurt.
If there is a member that is really pushing your buttons, you can add them to your ignore list through the User CP. If a member is on your ignore list, you will not be able to see what they post.
Advertising
This is rarely seen, although it is still a problem. Advertising INCLUDES linking to other sites or selling stuff but EXCLUDES other sites that are Pokemon related (no other forums though) and some exceptions. Of course, you can advertise to a certain extent in your signature or if you are in a fan club of some other non Pokemon related thing you can post a fansite that you might think is interesting.
Reporting
When you do the ill-advised things stated above, most likely irritated veteran members will report you. What is reporting? Well, at the bottom of every single post, there will be a button that says "report!". You can use this button to report a post that you feel is against the rules. But please do not abuse the report button. Do not report a post several times, even if no moderator has done anything to it. If nothing has been done (wait at least a day), that means there is no objectionable content in the post.
Page Stretching
You may have noticed that in the Site Discussion forum, there is a thread started by Pimpwalkin' Mateo Johnson entitled Page Stretching. What is page stretching, you may ask. Well, it's this:
Click here and scroll right. Wow. It's so long
That is page stretching. Well, it is extremely annoying as people may have trouble scrolling up and down.
Mini-Modding
Mini-modding is, put simply, telling another member off for not posting according to the rules. It is not excepted in this forum and is reserved only for the moderators. Please click here for more details.
Account Management (Signatures, title, username, etc.)
This section concerns stuff like PMs (private messages) and your profile and options. Most settings can be changed using the User Control Panel, otherwise known as the User CP, which has a link that can be found near the top of the page.
Private Messaging System
PLEASE DO NOT SEND SPAM PMs TO OTHERS! Some people like Light Venusaur do not like their inbox spammed up. Please note that our inboxes have limited space to receive PMs. After all, they can report PMs to moderators. You also cannot advertise anything by private messages, as stated by WPM himself. However, if you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
Username & Title
Now, for your profile. To customise things in your profile (excluding your username), click on User CP, which is near the top of the page, and navigate from there. Of course, your email and your bio and other personal information is optional, so there should not be many queries about it. Your username can be changed, but please do not keep changing it all the time as a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
Your title, which is the group of words under your username, can be customised. For example, mine is "Use a torch when visiting the Dark Side". When you first join, it will be Unregistered, until you get your account activated. Once it has been activated, it should be Junior Trainer. Then, go into the User CP (User Control Panel), click on "Change Profile", and look for the area which allows you to type in a custom title.
Lt. Houndoom: Green usernames are Mods, Pink user names are Supermods, Blue is the Admin, crossout is Banned and italic is Strategist.
Avatar
But some people do ask how to put their avatar. Well, your avatar has size limits, so don't go complaning to Water Pokemon Master, the Forum Administrator, about it. The maximum size for your avatar is 125x125 pixels for an uploaded picture. Some people have problem seeing pictures at the maximum size (that means me) and so I put it at 124x124 or less. To change your avatar, go the User CP, click on "Change Avatar" and you can choose to either upload a file within the maximum size to be your avatar or upload it to a site which host images and use the URL of it.
Signatures
Another thing, your signature. If you are wondering how to put pictures, you have to upload the pictures on sites like PhotoBucket or ImageShack, copy the URL, and paste it in your signature, between tags. Also, try to keep your signatures at a smaller size as some people have slow internet connection or have problem scrolling down the page.
[color=green]WPM: Signatures may not exceed the width and height of 670x250 pixels. Text is limited to 255 characters. Excessively large signatures will be removed, and we will not save your data. You will receive a temporary ban if you make a long signature more than once. As of April 17th, if you do not fix your signature within one week, it will be deleted and you will receive a temporary ban. If your signature is too large, make your images smaller and/or cut out the text.
DRK176:Sig violations are getting out of hand. Please read the rules to make sure your sig complies with them. Maximum sig size includes text.[/color]
To put a picture in after uploading, the code will have to look like this:
[code][IMG]http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j26/raichu_ohbeone/cynthiacard2.jpg[/code]
It should look like this:
If you would like a trainer card in your signature, please go to the Fan Creations forum and go to a shop and request for a trainer card there. I suggest you go to Andyman's Super Shop or to Light Venusaur's Konoha Village thing. It's quite a long name. This warning is unofficial, but nevertheless, it helps to get the reader's attention. And it will be beneficial to all.
When going to shop threads below with the intention to request for an item, please go to the first thread, scroll down, and check what information the shop owners require to make an item and fill out what they need in your post.
Do not request for things like that:
um...i wanna trainer card with a pikachu and a squirtle and a lugia and a ho-oh and a um i dunno what the name is its the big bird with fire on its wings and...
Like that. Please be considerate to the people who are making things for you.
To put a link in your signature, follow this:
It should look like this: Click here to go to Google!
Multiple Accounts
No. You are not allowed to have multiple accounts, even if you have been permanently banned.
HP, EV, EXP & Level
By now you should have noticed these things below your avatar. Well, do not make another thread asking about it. Look here or here to find out.
For quick reference...

You can click on any shop you want and request for whatever you want. The biggest shop is Light Venusaur's Konoha Village. Enough Said.

Code:
[url=http://www.google.com.sg]Click here to go to Google![/url]
It should look like this: Click here to go to Google!
Multiple Accounts
No. You are not allowed to have multiple accounts, even if you have been permanently banned.
HP, EV, EXP & Level
By now you should have noticed these things below your avatar. Well, do not make another thread asking about it. Look here or here to find out.
For quick reference...
That should answer your questions.WPM said:1. HP - amount of posts in the time you have been registered
2. EVs - activeness
3. EXP Points - how close you are to the next level
4. Level - a calculation of your posts and activeness combined to form your level
Trading (Cards)
PokéBeach Forums provides the Trading Corner forum for trading cards. Take note of the rules by Porygon and PMJ, and note that you can have only ONE trade thread. ONE. And...
Porygon said:If they have trouble with the mail they should NOT trade through our site to avoid trouble.
Wi-Fi League
The Diamond & Pearl Wi-Fi League of PokeBeach forums is an official "sub-organisation" set up by the site administrator, WPM himself, to facilitate interaction between the PokeBeach members of the two latest Pokemon video games. Click here for more details.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are Hit Points, Effort Values, Experience Points & Level?
Water Pokemon Master's Explanation or the Discussion Thread about it. (Already more than 2 weeks old please do not revive.)
AEX said:Hit Points are the amount of posts you've posted. The more you post, the higher the HP, but don't spam. Effort Values are how active you are, like above, the more active, the higher EVs you get. Experience Points are formed by combining both the Posts and your Activeness. Levels are formed once your Experience Points reaches 100 and to get to a level, please look below:- If you posted 10 times a day within 1 hour, you'll need roughly about 1-4 months to grow a level.
2.
A. Where do I get the trainer cards or banners from?
The Fan Creations forum. The Super Shop, Kohona Village, LV100 Charizard Shop and MPM's Shop should be the shops you would want to get banners and TCs. You can go to The Shop Library for a list of active shops.
B. Where do I go from there?
You can click on any shop you want and request for whatever you want. The biggest shop is Light Venusaur's Konoha Village. Enough Said.
3. How do I put pictures in my signature?
Upload your pictures on ImageShack or PhotoBucket, copy the URL and put it between image tags:
Further in detail:- To make your Image(s) link to a website/webpage, please type as below:-
AEX said:Code:[url=*Insert URL here*][img]*Picture URL*[/img][/url]
4. Where are the card blanks?
They're back! Click here.
5. Does posting in the Game Corner add to my EXP?
No.
6. Can I spam or flame?
No.
7. What is spam?
Going off-topic, extremely short or meaningless post (e.g. Yea I agree with you), etc.
8. What is flaming?
Criticising others in a way that will hurt them.
9. Can I revive a thread that is more than two weeks old?
No. BUT you can Revive Dead Topics unless you have a new update or developtments that is, and only is RELEVANT to the Topic that you're posting in. Posting in Stickied Threads has no offense, but then again, you need to have a good reason for posting in that certain thread. Read this for an explanation.
DRK176 said:Maybe... it depends. If there are "new developments" and you have new information to bring to the topic, then you are allowed to revive the thread. It might not be a bad idea to cite the "new developments" in the rules when you post so that other people know that you are not reviving the thread out of ignorance of the rules.
AEX said:So, Duplicates can be simplified as two or more people making threads that relates to the same topic. As for me, I've made one or two Duplicates and got warned but hey, I was a new member that time. bass_forte and Doc warned me and I will not want one more warning. Now, you can only and for ONE reason only to make a Duplicate Thread(s) IF there is anything that you would like to prove wrong, or any additional notes/updates and new developtments. But still, try to avoid doing duplicates often. One way to avoid these kind of "incidents" from happening is to use the Search button to Search throughtout the WHOLE of the Forums for a similar Thread.
10. How can I become a Strategist, Moderator, Supermoderator or Forum Admin?
By not asking and behaving yourself on the forums. And so far, Water Pokemon Master is the one and only Admin. Becoming a Strategist is one of the easiest Positions you could get if you have the right timing and qualifications. To be a Mod and Supermod, just stay active and be helpful. You can also read this for information.This.
Porygon said:These are not questions the staff of PokeBeach wants to hear, we've heard it a lot. Asking to be anything above a regular forum member (other than strategist) will take away any chance you had of becoming one. It lets the mods know that you have mod or something similar as a set goal, and that you might do whatever you can to get there. So if it is a goal of yours to become a mod - keep it to yourself.
11. I spam a lot. Who should I beware of?
ArmaldoEX. Light Venusaur. Mods. Supermods & WPM.
12. What should I not post in order to avoid spamming?
AEX's List of Sentences NOT to type & considered as bumps said:a) So...is there any new updates/Developtments?
b) Someone..plz Request! (Mainly for the Fan Creations Forum)
c) Bump
d) Other random, non-relevant, sentences.
13. Where can I join a clan?
In the Clans sub-forum.
14. Who are some of the people on PokeBeach that are quite common posters?
I removed this section because I felt like removing it.
15. I have a problem with inserting pictures...
Read this or this.
16. I don't understand some of the abbreviations used on this forum...
Read Holy Star's thread here.
Holy Star said:Credit to the PokeGym for having this up...I think for some who have trouble understanding what people are talking about, here's a list of some abbreviations and bits of lingo of the game. I am asking those who would like to help the cause to post information on newer abbreviations/definitions that come up...we'd like to keep this thing well dusted-off!
17. Is there a thread that tells us about some of the wrong card stuff?
Yes. ArmaldoEX's thread of Misunderstandings & Mistakes.
AEX said:Just to inform you members, I think that I'm allowed to do this. If not, moderators, please PM me.And I prefer that you guys move this if needed. The cards Below are Common cards that are Misunderstood.

22. Can the rules change?

Apparently not.
28. What is the difference between Strategists and normal members?
Alchemist_Almighty said:As far as modding privilages goes, I'm pretty sure they can't edit, delete, or move posts and/or topics. There is a special forum that they send their reviews to, and that's invisible to non-members, but other than that, nothing really. So really the only difference is that they have a special forum that they submit their reviews to and where they read what card they are going to be reviewing.Other than that, they're the same as a normal member.
29. Help! The page has an error! Error 404!
If you see this...
Mewtwo_93 said:got an error when i tryed to login, and when i tried to PM flygon, it said

30. Can I change my name?
Yes. But not too often. Read this for details.
31. Why do some usernames have special stuff? Like colour or bold, italic, etc.?
Lieutenant Houndoom said:Green usernames are Mods, Pink user names are Supermods, Blue is the Admin, crossout is Banned and italic is Strategist.
32. How do I make my threads stickied? It's so cool!
A moderator will see if there are any essential threads that they think that everyone should read. That's why this thread is up here lol.
33. What's that smiley? This one: :F
cute-mew :F said:Buck-tooth in the pory way, drool in the c-m way.
Anyhow, it is used to make a stupid statement look stupider, or to show that it was meant to be stupid and not-at-all serious.
Basically, :F=stupid
34. What do I do if I get a warning by PM from a mod?
If you do get a warning, it means that you either have made a serious offence or repeated an offence several times. Just get on with your daily forum life, but make sure that you do not break the rules again. If you do, you may be temporarily banned.
