General Will The Real Kadabra Please Stand Up?

Dear Pokébeach.

I am on a mission. One that I think is truly too large in scope to not share to the many. I don't know how long it will take or the complete idea of how to achieve this, but I just cannot simply lie around rotting and not try to make a positive difference for the world. I want the Kadabra line (specifically emphasis on Kadabra) to return how things were before that fateful day, when Nintendo, Game Freak and The Pokémon Company/Pokémon Center took notice to the genuine claim of a serious matter to be undone to the people this situation had mattered towards. My intention is for a complete peace guided towards all parties involved in the setback having to segregate something that designers, artists, producers and fans have spent precious work and time being associated with, including the person that started the inspiration of the controversy and his agenda in his defence. If this is your first time coming into contact with me, you may have seen my previous posts exhibiting my depression, wailing my grief about how much I want to see Kadabra, inevitably bringing with it my all time favourite evolution line too see itself in glory again as the No.1 in sets as it used to be.

I could be the only person who cares about this line as much as I do. As devoted fans we have all seen here and on every other Pokécommunity know about the Kadabra crisis being shunned off over and over, as being an impossibility to have back. including many people (myself until recently) who are not aware of the subtlety in the companies' changes negatively shunning Kadabra out of spotlights, far after the success in the lawsuit. The most popular example is the forceful paradoxical evolution of the Everstone holding Kadabra's during trade, unable as a player to object the evolution. This must be the only case of an Evolution lock. The second fact is that not since the fourth generation has there been any specific wild Kadabra despite the affluence of Abra's appearing in almost every main series title. Thirdly it has come to my attention that Kadabra has no profile or screenshots on his OWN main title feature episodes on Pokemon.com as opposed to the other main characters involved, either this is because he has no card to also show despite them all being WOTC era and not Nintendo/tPCI. These are examples that show a bigger thing potentially happening when compared to only the TCG's confusing exile that sadly seems to be escalating our poor original anthropomorphic magical fox.

On a more positive note, I believe that on more recent posts that the catalyst behind all of this, Uri Geller, has had a bigger understanding about Pokémons amazing community power as seen on on here, here, and here. I am currently writing a heartfelt, passionate letter for him that I aim to make things more helpful. There has been enough anger and even hatred throughout many of this matter especially from earlier posts from yours truly back when I was more uninformed of certain situations. I do not agree that this gesture will be the appropriate way to make a difference for the best. Since I am only purely motivated by my love for Abra, Kadabra and Alakazam in the same manner as they have been friends with me throughout journeys as the generations continue to go by. I will post my message when finished on here for your interest as I kindly wish to share my progress for the world.

After seeing how my first message will be I know I will also need to plan on writing to Nintendo, Game Freak and The Pokémon Company/Pokémon Center so please be sure to check back and see my main initial formal message when I finish proofreading it as soon as possible.

All my love; kindest regards.
Kurt.

P.S. For further proof of my passion, heres my orginal relic that made my obsession began. Look who is in the middle. Remember Sabrinas conclusive statement? “Your love for your Pokémon overwhelmed my psychic power... The power of love, I think, is also a kind of psychic power...

This is what my mindset is. All eyez on Kadabra.

Uri Geller took issue with Kadabra, and took offense with the fact that he assumed Pokemon turned him into an evil, occult creature.

He also took issue claiming Kadabra's design was anti-Semetic. Oh, and let's not forget Kadabra's Japanese name (Yungerer) is basically verbatim Uri's in Japanese.

I want to agree with Otto and say this was all a publicity stunt, and if he is truly coming around to the idea after all these years; then I think it essentially means this whole kerfuffle was a publicity stunt.

Uri Geller is nothing but an attention-seeking fraud. I plan on doing everything in my power to get Kadabra reinstated in ALL Pokémon Merchandise, including the TCG.

I hate all bans on Pokemon. I hate Kabutops but if it was banned from the TCG or the anime I would be there asking for it to return. Porygon, Kadabra, and any other banned Pokemon should have a better fate.

Hi again.

Firstly thank you very much for taking the time to come down to my little, striving attempt of a forum article to express your opinions as I am completely grateful all the responses I have recieved for something so large to tackle. Thank you all for listening.

I hope to have not lead you in the dirt since I would like to update to you that on top of a new job started, on top of making art (https://kurthewson.wordpress.com/work/) that I am juggling (aming it to be more telekinetically) trudging through this statement also lastly on top. Progress is happening slowly (sadly) however surely. :)

During this time I've also managed finally to grab a certain relative book (that I will take a photo soon) and may need to include anything depending on if it can provide any relevance after (not sure if it can be a fair accompaniment to what the letters theme) in order to help ourselves, Kadabra AND Uri. That's right, for those out there reading this think that I plan on berating Uri's decisions, yes anger is natural and understood, however theres no point making enemies when you want things to change for the better. Being the biggest fan possible that I can find for this line, I have had to deal enduring this the most which I feel is justified to say.

If theres any possibility I can jump this forum onto other PB circles besides Beachfront Hangout without making a new forum from scratch please I would be entirely grateful for any advise as much as I always have been since of the views and replies that I am grateful and fufiled to have been given.

Best wishes.
Si Monumentum Requires Circumspice.
Kurt.

Sorry for not getting back earlier. The Merchandise is sadly not only the issue now as stated before in my OP, Kadabra suffers from public domain from Pokémon's official pages and video game mechanics rights taken away. If thats a thing someone has ever said before until now, haha.

Some theorists out there can believe whatever they would like to and view Kadabra and Alakazam having visual references to Baphomet which is actually an extension of Christian worship! ;P

If it was a publicity stunt completely it dosen't make much sense to go on the offensive first as your initial option from a media moneymaking point of view. Imagine if Uri and Nintendo had agreed continuing things going with Kadabra the same way other named mon's are yet just kindly asked for Kadabra to be taxed upon official appearences in any future format so he could make profit upon each printed release? That would had been not only a more fairer judgement on the poor psychoanthropomorphic warlock fox for us yet also a more profitable publicity stunt than the story that did get ensued, at lib etc...

Oh yeah, by the way with the new Kanto games coming out now is the perfect time to bring back Kadabra! I would be sincerely heartbroken if in LGP/LGE either Sabrina is removed from the game or she no longer has a Kadabra. #TheTimeIsNow

Sorry, I do not know the answer to that. However, I have a few comments to make about the rude treatment of Kadabra in the new Let's GO games:
1. Kadabra removed from Sabrina's team-Sabrina now has Mr. Mime, Slowbro, Jynx and Alakazam.
2. Sabrina w/red eyes-seriously?
3. Saffron Gym puzzle nerfed-only 3 warp panels in some rooms
I find this extremely insulting to my favourite Gym Leader and one of my favourite Pokemon. I hope this will be addressed soon.
Yours sincerely,
RisingRaichuu

Hello sunbathers all far and wide!

Seeing as we europeans are behind compared to most of you on here, it's still time to say happy Pokémon day! Upon the flurry of exciting news I have this update I would like to share for any clarification that if anyone who is specialises in Japanese translation can translate this would be greatly appreciated.

Another reveal today was the rest of Pokémon.com/jp/'s special shirt line suited to adults in working enviromnents. Despite Mew (and Missingno. "Just do it Pokémon! Fine Jeez..." *Metal Gear Awesome 2 Freudian slip for benefit of reference) not revealed yet, the Abra line was one of the last to be revealed and it seemed that Kadabra's name had changed from Ungeller/Yungerer to Yungola. However this might just be a mistranslation once again of an already deliberate corrupted name unlike what Casey and Foodin are for there berethen respectfully. If anyone could be able to know what the name can translate to please feel free to message me.

Throughout the last several months since being unfairly dismissed at my last work I have been researching into merchndaise mainly for my personal archival aesthetic interest. Also I have noticed that despite the last western release of merch of Kadabra was this keychain following around its unfourtnate outbreak. I was exploring Pokémon Center items to non main series collectibles from Topps, JR Kikaku, Meji, Topsun, Burger King to Bandai etc. Interestingly, although Kadabra was outlawed out the main series TCG, fourtnately it has prevailed appearences in non main series/Pokémon Center distributed campaigns by aforementioned companies in comission with Pokémon. Lastly but not least, despite the brilliant release of this clothing line and Pokémon Fit plushes, it seems that US and Abra have stepped up its inclusion to the merch line.

It may be a small step, but it is a teleport to large potential. Pokémons potential is astronomical, unfourtnately their attitudes to taking considerations of ideas into oppertunity are sadly barely even microcosmic in scale.

I'm getting around.

If the Pokémon Company HAVE changed Kadabra's Japanese name from Yungerer to Yungola, then there is a possibility that it could be reinstated in the near future, so fingers crossed. (Saying that though, the Collins Dictionary translator says that Kadabra's Japanese name is.... Kadabra.)

I'm unfamiliar with the story. Anyone kind enough as to fill me in about what happened to Kadabra?
Basically, an Israeli magician and self-proclaimed psychic called Uri Geller sued Nintendo because he thought that Kadabra was an evil impersonation of him. There was a lengthy lawsuit and since then Pokemon has avoided using Kadabra in any merchandise (including the TCG) as a result.

Kadabra is one of my favorite psychic Pokemon, but the guy has a point. Nintendo should just redesign and rename Kadabra in Japanese.

Nintendo won the case however most likely had to consilidate some percent of legal fees. Presumably nothing amounting to the unrealistically gargantuan amount Uri desired. Meaning that only the designer and the comissioner being GF/Nintendo have all rights to the decision they make on a character and can't necessarily escape criticism from designs unless its obvious such as that with Jynx which was a classic example of unfurtnately mistranslated culture into another.

Kadabra's example is that Uri had taken Kadabra's design out of context into something that it is not associated with his feelings outside the spoon (e.g. the symbols associated with Zener cards and not Nazism or Judaism). He did it also deliberately to create publicity (exploitative greed) for himself that seems he now regrets using Kadabra the way he made it out to be after seeing Pokémon's force for good.

Redesign? Never. Unless its a new species variant which would be an alternative to itself.
Rename? So be it if it resumes consumer interest, hopefully so if its merch is likely able to cover legal costs from back them. Rename it Aleister Crowley or me ;) however pokémon will likely use that idea in future.

At this point, Uri seems to acknowledge Kadabra so its the past legal price Nintendo had to pay out for willing them to encourage relieveing Kadabra.
