Will the new trainers make Steelix better?

There's two new trainer cards that could make Steelix pretty broken:

Max Potion removes all damage counters from one of your Pokemon at the cost of discarding all energy attatched. This is essentially Blissey Prime, but can't be sprayed. Discarding all energy isn't bad either, as you can always Energy Stream/Conductive Quarry it back

Professor Araragi lets you discard your entire hand and draw seven card, again, energy can be brought back, and it's nice draw.

Will these cards change Steelix for the better?

I think you are focusing on the wrong deck here. These cards will make GYARADOS pretty broken. With Araragi, it won't matter if you are under trainer lock or in danger of being power sprayed; it adds versatility to how Karps are discarded. And Max Potion is just ridiculous, since Gyara will rarely have energy on it and even if it did, it is either 1. Warp Energy, which is useless after being attached anyway 2. Cyclone; see 1. or 3. Rescue, which hurts to lose but buys you an extra turn of G-Dos rage.

that depends on the rotations. if its hgss onwards like it is in japan, then gyarados is out of the picture

@El Radar: Well, I was aware of that, except for the fact that Gyarados is my least favorite deck, so I don't bother suggesting any cards for it :/ However, I'm a big fan of Steelix. However, I'm guessing once these cards come, Blaziken and Charizard MIGHT be rotated, so that gives Steelix a shot at the format, maybe even Tier one.

They could also make Donphan better, since only one energy is needed.

@Tyraniking I too dislike Gyarados with the passion of a thousand Charizard flamethrowers. However, I don't think Charizard will be rotated. I do think that once the format is shifted, it will give Steelix a shot with these new cards.
