Why do you think Shooti take's Pictures?

I think he takes them to remember his journey and when he loses a battle he can look back on the pictures to see what he did wrong.

Well he probably takes photos to learn more about how the Pokemon look like and also pictures of where he already been too so he can remember them when he goes to other towns. Its his hobby to take photos so he could pretty much remember all the places he has been too.

Every character has his quirks or traits.

I doubt your battle evaluation theory is correct since he wasn't shown to be taking any pictures mid-battle when his tsutaaja fought pikachu in BW001
