Why do we allow certain topics?

Why do we allow topics like "Which booster pack should I get" when the answer is always "The one with the most cards you like" ? Sometimes there are like five of those topics open.

Just throwing that out here.

NO seriously though, I think you are right, theya re just spam. I see loads of them. Just report them nad a mod will lock it if it is just pointless.
 
I agree as well. I don't think they need to spam up the TCG forum with threads like "what set should I buy?" Besides, after seeing what most people wrote in those threads, it's clear to see that they should get packs from MT or SW. I also don't think we need them becuase its what you feel is best, and someone out there is probably still going to go with their opinion than what most people say.

I really don't think we need those threads...

But in all seriousness. I agree with you. All topics like that should be banned =D

They technically are, since they're considered spam -_-. Banning things doesn't stop n00bs from making topics like that, and I suspect we're only getting those topics due to Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanza/whatever else =]
 
Well, I didn't know. I've only stopped by there like 3 times in the month and 3 days I've been a memeber here.

abaxter's thread isn't good either. How does what you buy depend on how many boosters you buy?

What we need methinks is a topic there laying down which topics aren't allowed (KADABRA TOO) because they're answered so often already, and just give people a 2-day-ban if they fail to keep to that because they didn't read the rules.
 
Hmm, I personally think that these threads are made to ask, what set they should buy. I suspect that the author(s) are expecting an answer that is something like "You should buy [Insert Set Name Here] because of so and so" instead of "The ones that you like". I'm not too sure, but as PMJ made a new global forum announcement, reporting anything is possible. =]

Exactly. If members didn't want to talk to other members, then the forums would be pointless. Stop complaining.
 
We really need a rule banning "Which pack" and "Kadabra" threads, and other similar threads. They are plugging up the TCG and Pokemon Discussion threads.
 
Well, I know my article isn't perfect, but it isn't that bad. And if there are imporvements to be made, I would certainly like some feed back, as I was hoping that that thread would prevent "Which to buy" threads.
Any way, perhaps there could be a sticky in the TCG questions about kadabra?

Just pointing something out. I didn't mean to much much attention to the # of boosters part.
Yeah, Kadabra threads also shouldn't be allowed.
 
Call me crazy, but if we baned topics such as "why isn't kadabra a pokemon?", everyone will ask why they can't ask, and if they didn't already know, they never will. That is why we need a sticky in TCG questions, IMO. Plus, if there was 1 Intellagent person for every hundered n00bs there were on the site, even though he may act n00bish at first, he could turn out to be something.
But I'm straying from the topic. Really, I think this one goes up to WPM.
 
I still laugh when i remember the thread talking about if pokemon was satanic.
Classic....
