No, dewgong is a manatee....you see, the name dugong is another name for a manatee.And dugong is homophonous to dewgong....

Actually there is a distinction between dugongs and manatees. Dugongs are smaller than manatees, and there tails look like a whale's tail, and manatees have a rounded tail.

What about specific types of Dogs?
I know there are dog Pokémon, such as Growlith and Houndoom, but what about making some that were based off of Pitbulls, or Labs?
Pitbulls/Rotwielers = Strength
Gray Hound = Speed
Border Collie/Poodle = Intelligence
 
ONly ones that have OBVIOUS changes, like a bulldog to a poodle. Otherwise we'll end up researching the whole Animal kingdom and get about 1468000 animals we havn't used...

Well, they should keep it in mind when they do use all the general animals xD
 
Wouldn't phanpy and donphan be seen as elephants? I guess we could have a poddle, but then would anybody actually WANT a poodle pokemon?
 
I think there's no roaches.
I know there's a chicken Pokémon, but not a hen...
Other: Fly, mosquito, goat, koala... the weird animal from Australia which has a duck peck... (in my country it's called ornitorrinco)
