BW/BW2 Where's the opposite gender?

Since the third generation, the opposite gender has been some kind of rival. However, in Black and White, we haven't even seen a sign of that person.

Do you think he/she will show up later in the game? Or will it be like in FireRed and LeafGreen?

I'm guessing they will most likely pull a FRLG on us. But what would be cool, IMO, is if the opposite gender character is the champion. I know it probably won't happen but who knows.

I'm happy that Game Freak decided not to show the opposing protagonist in B/W.
No assistant, no rival, nothing. I was getting tired of having the "opposite gender" in the game.
I honestly don't think the opposing protagonist of the one you choose will even make an appearance in B/W at all.

White kinda has made an appearance in the game along with Black. Granted they were on 2-player mode....

I agree with this. No need for the opposite gender player to even show up, because the beginning cast (player character and two friend/rivals) is pretty varied as it is.

The opposite gender character didn't appear in FR/LG or Crystal and the games didn't suffer for it.

well I have to say one thing,We have two rivals and thats better then one.

I really don't mind that we likely won't be opposing the opposite gender in B/W. I think it's more interesting with Belle and Cheren. Besides- 3 rivals? >_>

There most likely pulling a FR/LG on us.Although not seeing the female trainer is a bit of a release from the usual oh there you are (input name here) so hows your pokedex coming.UGH it just rings change.

This is the first generation I've been immediately happy with both player character designs, so I may be a bit biased, but I'd really like to see them make an appearance in game. (This coming from someone who damn near HATED the professor's assistant character in RSE and DPt.)

And I mean, is three rivals that bad?
It gives us a nice frequent set of Rival fights that don't have to happen every 3 gyms.
