What should Axew EV train in?

I know that you should EV train him/her in ATK to get a massive attack sweeper, but what other stat should i train him/her in? and more importantly, what nature and characteristic should it have to max ATK?
 
Axew needs Jolly (+Speed, -Special attack) nature and max speed as well as attack. You could use Adamant nature, but jolly is really thr best, then max its attack and speed.
 
Who? Speed is the best stat to invest into, you need speed investment to outpseed stuff or you are OHKOed. Speed is the most important stat in the metagame.

Max attack, max speed for a sweeper, DD to sweep. Lum Berry will clear up that confusion from Outrage, your main STAB, or it can stop random Status like Burn or Paralysis. Earthquake gives just about perfect coverage with Outrage, so your last slot goes to hit Skarmory or give you an alternate STAB. Hope this helps.

With Taunt you shut down Haxorus's only real counter: Skarmory. Dual Chop is also great for breaking Subs.
 
It's way less efficient to lose a potential attack slot than to just have a Skarmory counter in the wings. Dual Chop should just be slashed in with the last slot. Skarmory can just wear you down with Brave Bird, and with your set Dual Chop isn't going to be hitting for much.
 
very interesting, i will keep that in mind. i am new to the world of competitive VG playing, so i am guessing STAB means the main attack that you will usually use. by the way, if you have an everstone attached to one of the breeding parents, does that give a 50-50 chance of the baby having that parents nature?
