What Program do you use to make Avatars,Banners and Sprites?

I want to try to learn how to make Avatars,Banners and Sprites but don't know what program to use, can someone tell me? and where to find tutorials on how to make some?

atm I have Adobe Photoshop 7 on a dis, not installed atm.

But I do have Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Macromedia Fireworks MX, and Macromedia Flash MX installed on my computer but have never used any of them.

MS Paint is good for it. I use paint first then photo express to etit.
(photo express not photoshop

Actually one of the best program is the adobe illustrator cs2 and the adobe photoshop cs2.That are the best ones.
