What do I have here?

Hello,

While at my LCS playing this past weekend, I aquired, in a trade, a stack of 18 metal pokemon coins, which I assumed were damage counters.

They are about the size of a silver dollar, and have pics of different pokemon in the middle. On the back it says "Pokemon, Gotta Catch them all"

I can't scan them right now, but if anyone could shed some light on what they are, that would be cool.
