Hi everyone. I decided that I want to make a team based on Mega Venusaur. Mega Metagross Talonflame and Latios are so common and hinders its viability but on the other side, Venusaur threats such a large list of other common threats in OU and the fact that it has access to so many moves like Sleep Powder Leech Seed and Earthquake makes the opponent to think twice before staying in.
It is a pretty fast offensive team and Venusaur acts as a very good backbone for the team with its own offensive power and great bulk.
Please share your thoughts.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis

Venusaur is a very good bulky offensive Pokemon, able to wall so many common threats in the metagame including Mega Lopunny, Keldeo without HP Flying, Mega Diancie, Azumarill, Ferrothorn, Mega Altaria, Clefable, Serperior and Breloom.
EV spread and nature are standard to hit as hard as possible while outrunning Adamant Azumarill and having as much bulk as possible. Giga Drain is STAB move which hit Water Ground and Rock types, OHKO's Mega Diancie and keeps Venusaur healthy together with Synthesis, Sludge Bomb hits very hard other Fairy types and many threats on the switch. Lastly, HP Fire takes care of Ferrothorn and Scizor.

Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 76 Atk / 216 SpA / 216 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hurricane
- U-turn
- Taunt
- Superpower

Tornadus-T has the ability to serve as a great offensive pivot and its low defenses with SR weakness doesn't stop him very quickly thanks to its Regenerator ability. The standard EV spread for Life Orb set are for OHKO Excadrill and Tyranitar with Superpower. Especially Tyranitar which can put a lot of pressure on Mega Venusaur with Stone Edge and Sandstorm damage that hinders Synthesis's healing power. 216 speed EV's lets Tornadus-T to outrun base 115 Pokemon such as Raikou and Starmie. Taunt shuts down set ups and especially Chansey which walls my Mega Venusaur. U-Turn helps Tornadus-T's role as a pivot and is a great way to hit the opponent switching out and activating Regenerator all together. Hurricane takes care for HP Flying Keldeo and is Tornadus-T's STAB. The confuses chance is a great bonus while the low accuracy is simply annoying but still worth it.

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Swords Dance

One of the most common threats for Mega Venusaur is Latios. Weavile is one of the best answers to it as it is immune to Psyshock outspeed Latios. The high speed lets Weavile to act as an effective revenge killer. Knock Off is a great STAB that removes items while doing higher damage, Icicle Crash is another STAB for bulky ground types like Gliscor and Ice Shard is a priority move against Choice Scarf users mostly such as CS Landorus-T and CS Garchomp.
Swords Dance gives Weavile the ability to OHKO Mega Metagross and Hippowdon.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Moonblast
- Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled

Clefable's standard SR set lets it sponge many hits from both physical and special attackers. Thunder Wave is its second job after setting rocks, spreading paralysis and slow down the opponent's fast Pokemon like Lati@s DD Mega Charizard X and of course Mega Metagross. Soft-Boiled and Leftovers keeps Clefable healthy and Moonblast prevents Clefable from being a Taunt bait and to hit Mega Sableye. Magic Guard lets it sponge Will-o-Wisp which Mega Venusaur hates as the burn damage makes it loose HP very quickly.

Raikou @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt

The other thing that Mega Venusaur hates is Talonflame and Flying types in general. Choice Specs Thunderbolt and Volt switch takes care for that while also threatening Skarmory and Volt switch makes Raikou another offensive pivot that forms Volt turn core with Tornadus-T. HP Ice deals with ground types like Garchomp and Landorus-T. Shadow ball hits Mega Metagross very hard and also deals with Gengar.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Rapid Spin

Starmie is my spinner which is very important considering the fact that this team likes to switch a lot. But it also has a great offensive power. Analytic boosts Starmie's power on the switch. Hydro Pump is the main attack with STAB and great base power which also deals with Heatran, Ice Beam hits grass and dragon types while Psyshock deals heavy damage for specially defensive Pokemon like Chansey.
