Ruling Unown G+Mismagmius SF

All right you all know this guys attack. If a pokemon, say Claydol has Unown G attached to it, can Mismagmius discard Unown G? I think it can because it is not targeting the pokemon directly, but the tool itself...thanks to anyone who answers.
 
Crash Chant can only target your own Claydol with an Unown G on it. Discarding the Tool is an effect of an attack.
