This is my first deck I've built. I'd like to hear if there are cards I use that have better versions out, or if you see some flaws. I've only played against casual players, it's decent enough, although it can start up slow sometimes and can run out of cards to draw after a while.

11 Pokemon
  • 1 Magnezone BRK 54
  • 3 Magneton BRK 53
  • 3 Magnemite BRK 52
  • 2 Stunfisk BRK 56
  • 1 Elekid TRIU 21
  • 1 Minun SW 32
33 Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums
  • 1 Pokemon Retriever
  • 3 Energy Search
  • 3 Energy Removal
  • 3 Professor's Letter
  • 4 Potion
  • 2 Energy Retrieval
  • 4 Gust of Wind
  • 1 Professor Elm's Training Method
  • 1 Rocky Helmet
  • 1 Skyla
  • 1 N
  • 1 Bebe's Search
  • 1 Switch
  • 1 Switch
  • 1 Fisherman
  • 1 Tool Scrapper
16 Energy
  • 15 Lightning Energy Basic Energy
  • 1 Double Colorless Energy Special Energy
Strategy:

Don't really know what to say about the deck. I only use the magnezone as the real attacker, the two stunfisks are neat as I try to have them powered up by the time another pokemon get's KO'ed after which they can do 100 damage. The minun is only there to stay on my bench and give me the choice to draw two extra cards after one of my pokemon gets KO'ed.
The ability magnezone has lets me attach as much energy as I want and the trainers give me access to them.
The gust of wind, tool scrapper, rocky helmet and such are nice to disrupt and pester my opponent.

Edit:
Since this deck is unlimited, and I'd like to play at least with expanded, feel free to point out how I could achieve a similar effect with newer cards.

I think before any help can truly be given, the question must be asked, what format are you wanting to play in? Your header reads standard, but your decklist is in the unlimited format.

Elekid, Minun, Gust of Wind, Bebe's Search, Energy Removal, Pokemon Retriever and Professor Elm's Training Method are flat-out unplayable.

N and Rocky Helmet are playable in the expanded format only.

Yeah, I've come to realise that too. I'd like to play in expanded at least. I've only got to know about formats yesterday. I'm trying to switch out all the unfair/unlimited cards.
But from a builders perspective at the moment, does my deck seem decent enough? Am I leaving holes somewhere?

Thanks
