Ruling Unknown G with Magmortar X, Flygon X, Etc.

So me and my friend where just battling for fun and had a question about Unknown G. So Magmortar X's Flame bluster DOES 100 damage to a pokemon in play so does Unknown G stop this? I was at league this past weekend and the leader and the person i was battling said that even though i had Unknown G on my Mag X that Flaygon X still hits it for 150. Can someone just clear this up for us, it would help greatly. :3
