The last deck I made was semi-serious and I decided it would be nice to return to my specialty of crappy decks. So here we have Slurpuff/Gourgeist! I thought Id write out this deck before I played it so you guys can give me some proper advice. The deck tries to max out your hand size, and then hit with Gourgeist for hopefully huge numbers whilst also having a very decent 190hp on a non-ex pokemon.
I have a few cards to improve hand size. The main one is slurpuff, who provides a single draw card every turn. This quickly ramps up if the opponent isn't playing N every turn. with 4 slurpuff, this can grab me 4 extra cards. I also have 2 exeggcute, which gives 2 additional cards into my hand (and also has the important benefit on allowing me to avoid losing hand size when playing ultra balls etc). I've got Super Scoop Up, which can pick up either an exeggcute if I have bad luck and begin with it, or gourgeist. This could net me 3 additional cards (pick up pumpkaboo, gourgeist, and 2 energy -1 hand size for the super scoop up itself). This has good synergy with gourgeist anyway which is a hard card to knock out in one hit. I also have professor's letter, to turn 1 card into 2 and provide me 1 extra card. I also have superior energy retrieval, which paired with exeggcute can turn into 3 additional cards (4 energy, -1 hand size for playing the card). For draw support, tierno, colress and sycamore net the largest hand sizes. N is avoided because it really hurts me if I play it after taking a few prizes. Pokemon fan club is an important card in order to ensure I can grab my basic pokemon since I need a lot of them. This later boosts the power of colress.
While this deck appears to be absolute garbage, the damage can actually add up. Colress for 10 + 4 slurpuff draws + a muscle band + 2 exeggcute propogation is already 180 damage. But you can still do good damage even with low hand size:
N for 4 + 4 slurpuff draws + muscle band + superior energy retrieval + professor's letter = 140 damage. If you propogate back some exeggcute that turns into 160, and the only cards that were reliant on draw once set up was a single superior energy retrieval and professor's letter. Thats pretty decent! Also for every turn your opponent doesn't play N or red card, your hand size increases by 4 minimum which limits their draw power too- and the threat of a huge colress limits their bench too. If they fill up their bench or dont disrupt your hand, you could have a strong chance of rolling through their team! This deck is not a competitive deck by any means but it could be a lot of fun. Any suggestions are much appreciated! I'm going to steer away from rollerskates though (as well as other consumable flip items like super scoop up), since the flip means you might just be decreasing your damage for no reason. hypnolaser and muscle band make sense because muscle band turns from a +1 hand size (10 dmg) to +20 atk damage, which is a net increase which seems worth it. hypnolaser evens out too but i didnt have room for it.
This deck obviously is rekt by yveltal. slurpuff could perhaps try attacking it with light wave but would probably get murdered despite the dark resistance. I think that might just have to be something I accept, or hope to god that they play shadow circle which I can steal the effects of with rainbow energy.. Also I should probably be more stingy with supporters since I have so much draw power with slurpuff and I dont want to refresh my hand much after the deck sets up.
