yeh, I live in Sydney too, I also have Pokemon Figures. in fact, at the place that I go, everyone plays it as well as the cards. if you want to see what I've got, just PM me. the packs have been there for ages.

Anyway, some of you don't know how to play, so I'll explain it as best I can.

basically, you NEED a game mat to play on. Unlike pokemon cards, it's compulsory as you can't play without it. I'm not sure whether you've seen the game mat but either way, it has two sides. One side has 3 on 3 pokemon play and the stadium is much smaller than on the other side which plays 6 on 6 pokemon battles. 3 on 3 being the orange side, 6 on 6 being the green side.

To actually play the figure game, your pokemon figurines need spinners on their base. These are found in the two starter packs, one featuring Red as the trainer, Treecko, Meowth and Charizard. The other pack features Brandon as the trainer, Pikachu, Murkrow and Feraligatr. Both come with 3 trainer cards as well. btw, spinners are featured only in the starter packs, not in the booster packs which have two random pokemon/trainer/trainer card in it.

The aim of the game is to aim for the opponents goal on the other side of the play mat. You start off the game with your pokemon on the bench and your trainer in the trainer corner, as well as 3 trainer cards. I'll explain what the trainer does later. As usual, you call it right with a coin or something. The person who moves first takes one step [MP] less than usual to make their move. MP stands for Movement Points. So if a pokemon like Murkrow for instance has a MP of 3, it only moves 2 spaces. The pokemon have to leave either side of their bench where the entry points are displayed. Once the first person make their move, the opponent can move with their movement points as normal, as well as the player. Basically, you take your turns moving your pokemon UP TO their movement points [but you can't choose not to move at all unless your next to an opponents pokemon. Then, you may do nothing if you wish].

The trainer cards help in different ways, whether it be in battle, for movement, or many other things. But trainer cards must be used before you make you move with your pokemon. When you decide to use one, you must spin your trainer who also must be on a spinner. It has two things in it's area. Most of it has Success, shown in white. If so, you may do whatever the trainer says. If your unlucky enough to get a miss, the trainer  was a waste and you skip your go. Once a trainer card is used, flip it upside down.

When one of your pokemon is next to another pokemon, you battle by spinning your figure, like you do with the trainer, and carry out the attack or move that the figure has landed on[on the spinner, there is an arrow]. There are 4 colour catagories that determine whose attack works. There is orange/red, which is miss. Everything beats it. There is white, which has an attack and the amount of damage it does. Just take Absol. It has two white parts. One has the attack Scratch, which does 30 damage and the other is Razor Wind which does 70 damage. If I have an attack of 70 and my opponent does less damage or gets a miss, the opponent's pokemon goes to another part of the mat, the pokemon centre. In 3 on 3 battles, there is one space in the pokemon centre, in 6 on 6, there is 2 spaces. When it's filled up and another pokemon dies, the one that was in the pokemon centre in the first place goes onto to the bench and can be moved during the next turn. If both pokemon have the same attack power, neither works and nothing happens.

Another one is purple, which beats white and orange. Purple moves have stars next to them, ranging from 1 to 3 stars. No matter what white attack or how powerful the opponent's white attack is, if you spin a purple, the purple move works. The purple moves have nifty abilities like sending the opponents pokemon to the bench, an instant kill, or a little move boost. If Absol spins his purple attack, Double Edge[kills both pokemon battling] which has 2 stars, and the opponents has a puple effect of 1 star, the 2 star move would work. If it's a 3 star vs a 2 star, the 3 star move would work. If it's 2 two stars or 2 three stars or 2 one star attacks happening, both are cancelled out, and nothing happens.

But the best of them all is the blue catagory, which is a dodge of some sort. No matter what the opponent throws at you, if you spin a blue the opponent's move doesn't work at all. btw, 2 blues don't cancel each other out as it's just dodge, that it makes any sense if it did.

Also on the figures, there is a type like Dark type or Fire type. With all the figurines that I've seen[which is nearly all of them] the type doesn't seem to do a thing.

There are also status effects and poke'powers which is stated on the figurine. Paralysis makes on of the pokemon's attacks[the one of your choice]a miss.  Also, there is a poison status effect which lowers a pokemon's power attack by 20. If Absol's Razor Wind does 70 damage and is poisoned, it does 50 damage instead. So far, these are the only status conditions. Status effects can happen with the pokemon's attack, as long as the attack says it works.

Poke'powers make a return in this as well, but they provide mostly protection. Like Raichu. It's poke'power makes in invulnerable to paralysis.

whoa...that's a lot of writing, but I tried to explain it the best I could. I think I've covered everything. One more thing, there is no such thing as evolution in this, as there are Pikachu and Raichu figurines. They are just 2 different figurines, that's all.
EDIT: I just remembered. pokemon can't move backwards. It can move sideways, but not backwards unless via a card effect or an attack. Also, if you surround a pokemon so that that pokemon can't move anywhere, the surrounded pokemon is instantly dead. But it must be surrounded from all sides by your pokemon. It can be difficult, but if you have a stratergy for it like using lots of dodge pokemon so you can bring the rest to surround it while it sits there laughing, you can have a really good team.

yeh, psyblazer, I'll be there too. i'm normally late although if you need help on playing or need to borrow something, I'll be there.

Hey everyone sorry about me not posting here ive been busy with the tfg making up a good team if you have a tfg team please let me know what it is anyway heres my team!

Absol-ok attacker-ok mover
Treeco-fast mover
pikachu-heavy hitter

Thats my 3v3 team i have a much better 6v6 team!
Really what i have to do with this team is just send treeco and pikachu out first so they can quickly move for my opponents goal and absol stands on my goal to defend it!

My friend's currently selling Lugia, Misty, Dratini and Zangoose on Ebay AU for those that are interested. Do a search on 'Pokemon trading figure game' and you should see them. I'd link it but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link to Ebay auctions here. Please bid if you need these figures as we're trying to find a way to get rid of our duplicates.

Unfortunately at the moment she's decided to ship them only to people in Australia, so if you don't live here, too bad :p

I had a look at your thread and my friend has Zangoose, Golem and Shroomish. Only Zangoose has been put up on Ebay though.

If you're interested in a trade rather than bidding for the item, could you let me know through PMs? I'll have to ask her about the trading first though.
