The official yugioh! disscussion thread

I used to play Yugioh. After watching the show, the actual game kinda sucks. lol

All the "good" players are too serious and fast for my liking.

I play for fun with my local friends but that got old real fast.

I kind of like collecting the cards still, (mainly good dragons) but....

My current/last deck is a Lightsworn deck. God their cool.

If we had "real" duel disks or Duel Runners and the holograms were possible, I would be so into it. But until then...

I remember when there wasn't a ban list!

Because I stopped playing around PSV or so.

Yeah. I started early enough that i remember those times too. But i'm in a way happy they started a ban list! Didn't they ban "Black Hole"?

Yeah, second or third ban list iirc. It wasn't on the initial one because they felt that banning Raigeki was enough.

I think that the original ban list only had like 19-21 cards on it.

Also, is necroface still a good deck? It is great in the game, but sometimes I end up decking my self with like 20,000 DP.

Well, IRL if you build it right it's really nice. They reprinted Allure and Necroface so they are at $5 each, and Gold Sarc. is at $30 cause of it's reprint.

Thanks! ;] I needed that info?! And really! Only 19-21?!

The original ban list was very small. It was pretty much made because of cards like Raigeki.

And then it slowly got bigger.

Dude, you must not play at a very high level, because no card should be banned in August, as nothing is "broken" enough for it.

I think an unlimited format would be better. There would be less extremely offensive decks, and we would see more balanced play.

Dude, let me just say, Traditional format is almost as bad, if not worse because you can play spells turn1, than Pokemon's Unlimited format.

Unlimited play for Yugioh is horribly unbalanced due to cards like Raigeki, Black Hole, Heavy Storm (is that one legal? I have no idea), Monster Reborn, Change of Heart, Envoy of the End, Envoy of the Beginning, Butterfly Dagger Elma, et cetera.

Please, it's summerized with one combo:

Makyura the Destructor + Exchange of the Spirit

lol, and Storm is legal

Which is exactly why decks would be more balanced, and would be less reliant on certain cards. An unlimited format means that what's on the feild, or in your hand one turn, may be completely different the next turn. Decks that can easily adapt will win.

Um... you seem to have the wrong impression. If you don't win turn one, you mostly likely will not even HAVE a next turn =/

No, I think you mean harpie's feather duster. it only clears out the opponents side, and is banned.

I used to have a few Yu Gi Oh cards and played the TCG a few times with my friend but I did not understand the game that well. The only cards I had was Summon Skull and one other card and I always ended up trading them for more Pokemon cards. I used my friends cards to play the game with him and the ones I got I traded for Pokemon cards. I only had about 5 cards or so and he usually gave me trainers or uncommons of Pokemon. I generally liked the Pokemon cards over the Yu Gi Oh cards though. Some of the cards like The Blue Eyes White Dragon were pretty cool though because he sort of looks like Charizard only he is black and blue colored. I watch the Anime all the time when it was on though.:)

I was under the impression that Heavy Storm was banned, though.

JC: But then every deck would be roughly the same. That's called centralization, and that's why Garchomp was banned :\

I thought that heavy storm is still playable in the game, I don't think it's banned.
