In the past three months, I have noticed a drastic, melancholic change in PokéBeach Forums. I couldn't find posts that were n00b free. I was struggling for literacy. Veterans and stewards of PokéBeach Forums were no where to be found. Posts from forum to forum were unusually short. The number of views on the newbie guides have stopped rising. I felt like I was in a whole new community. Everything, but a few survivors have changed.

Every time I see a member two weeks old or younger at level 30+, I say to myself, "Why couldn't I do that?o_O I've been here for eleven months, go online and post almost each day, and yet, I'm at a lower level?" It was definitely a rhetorical question. I knew the answer was definitely spam. How could canned preservatives sky rocket your level that much? I know that I myself, may post spam but not to that degree.

Is this what PokéBeach Forums is turning into? A spam factory? A generation that loves MSG? Those hogs! I don't even know if I put enough words to describe this horrific turn of events, but is there a single spark of hope out there, waiting to rise and burn with a passion for literacy?

The veterans are all still here...arn't they?

Yes, I did notice those members who were very new and levels 30+, but you have to consider, that not all their posts are spam. Sure they do spam a bit, but after a while they come to see that using proper grammar shows your intelligence and people respect you more.....or something. :/

Anyway, with the level system it's like I said before. When I first joined you tend to look up to those people who are on higher levels, and keep in mind that they won't know whether they are spammers or good members.
 
Actually, some Veterans like Flygon, Andyman, Junichi, Boracay_Jason, Ghost Pokemon Master, Black Rayquaza, Sam von Noobenschtein, SubZero, bass_forte, Blastoise King, Absol, Pokefan4000, Pok3m@niac(Did I spell that right?) And many more have vanished from the surface of the beach.

Well, bass_forte is gone and Poke3m@niac sometimes hang around. But apart from that (not all) but most of the people on those list are still here, just not where you post.
 
Subzero, Absol, SvN, B.King and Andyman are still here. =p Veterans go not because of the spam, but because they gain this big ball of mixed randomness called life. =] We still have out fair share of veterans and semi ones. Bacon, cute-mew, SN and sort of new KG became mods which was a big plus to the site. Zaroco, Magicmew, Absol, Shroob, Miles (sometimes), 'Zilla, Arcy 274, and I are still here to help in our own way. =] So, why would you think spam is the new Pokebeach? It isn't.
 
So do something about it. Everyone in Team Mod does their best to make the forums a better place for all you guys, but you can't expect us to wave a magic wand and make everything perfect. We can (and do) try to promote intelligent discussion on the forums, but if you guys want it to be like this as well then you'll have to help too. It's not hard, simply create more intelligent threads, make your posts longer and more interesting (if they aren't already), and please, please use the report button if someone is rule-breaking or being a general nuisance.

Actually, all of the members that I have just bolded are still here, SvN is in my clan and is 2nd in command, Flygon comes here sometimes now, again, B_J is somewhere in the Clans and Clubs forum, BK sometimes comes here and Absol vanishing ? o_O
 
Err... I do miss some members from the old days, but most in your list are still around, especially SvN. He's one of the top posters. >.> But as Bacon said, Team Mod is doing its best. We don't have the time for the Game Corner because we have to handle reports and promote intelligent posts. In fact, I prefer all the new members that have come to our gaming section and are veterans (such as Kevin or Shroob) since the Wi-Fi League's creation. But the TCG sections... They are fleeing to PokeGym. :/

And yeah it annoys me when people who have only been here for like a month are level 45+...Or something drastic like that =/

wowz, eye am gone? It's probably because I am out of the Game Corner and post only in the Gaming Discussion/RMT/Site discussion/Clans forums. That's a lot, so I can't say I'm gone :p

IDK about drastic inactivity in the forums, but instead, it has become more hectic; more and more members join the forums and have became what I call 'Regulars", not those Conscript n00bs. Look at KaM, he was a n00b, and now he upgraded to a Regular. Another 3-5 months and he'll be 'one of us' :)

Conscript = n00b
Regular = Tamed n00b
Veteran = Veteran
Elite = Mod
Leader = Super Mod
President = WPM

What Palmer said is right. We are the new generation, we must fight to the end. Because we are the champion, OF THE WORLD. The mod team is doing they're best. We should help them by the super ultra PWNZORZ button, which is the report button. We should guide the young ones to their adulthood. We are the light that seeps through the dark holes of the assorted meat. WE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT CARRY THE HEAVY MEAT ROCKS OF LAW. We are the Autobots.

First time using metaphores. My brain hurts and I can't think any more of it. I'll leave the rest on the veterans.

PokéBeach Forums is full of spam indeed. And yes, there are many people who "vanished from the surface of the beach". Let's say rickraptor77... And yes it is a big loss for PokéBeach Forums. There are many people who don't understand, that they got banned for spamming (*khm* D&P ... I know you were banned for signature, but you're spamming too much as well) or don't understand that they must not spam, even if they're only 9 years old (*khm* Ash Ketchup).

But what can we do here? If you report spams like "I like that", many times nobody cares. And you can't report people for one-lined-post, because WPM posts like that many times... Sometimes there are threads with no intelligent discussion and nothing is done about it. Luckily we're getting another mod soon (not sure if soon is the best word...).

BTW: Why did you say GPM (the old one) was veteran? He was one of the biggest spammers.

Lol. I have a fair share of spammers on Pokebeach in my head. I do indeed miss some of the past members - DAINAI, Kaito, zwelgbelg, etc. from the TCG part of Pokebeach. They have thought me well in the strategist program. But the best person with grammar is indeed Veyatii. His bombastic words really made sense, bombastic, but understandable. =] Look at some of his articles and you'll see. bass_forte was one of the few people I missed as well. :/

Nevertheless, we have a whole new breed of people now. I think I went through like, 3 generations, one being the original one with the above members, then the one where SN, c-m, b-b, and all came, then this current one, where Zaroco, Pride, ID, Shroob, Miles and KG came - And I liked them all. Come to think of it, making SN into a member (from a noob =p) wasn't that bad after all.

The only spam I see is from the Clans and Shops, Fan-fics and spriting contests. :/

The racist part was sarcasm. And I was being a little stupid with the people calling me a spammer noob part. Lol.

But yeah...Getting back on topic.

It is not the end of the world. Pokebeach is just entering a new phase. You just gotta roll with it.

If SN is in the 'Industrial Ages', KG/Miles is in the 'Modern Times', where am I? Acutally, if you read my post in some random Site Discussion thread, I joined the forums on May 06, so I'm as old as AEX was (Sort of :)). I was a n00b then, so I left my old account to observe PokéBeach Forums, came back as Absol and became a 'Good Noodle' then. No, I didn't do anything bad in my ex account :)

KaM --> Veteran. I doubt it.

Anyway, AEX half-right. There are many (much too many) spams in Fan Creations. But I can see many spams everywhere else as well. Even in thread WPM posted (you should be afraid of getting banned and not spam in WPM's thread) One Star.

Ok, that besides the point, why does everyone think we're going backwards? Although I must admit a lot of new noobs have invaded Pokébeach, it might be that we just take everything way to serious, or just un-noobed a lot in these last months... LOLZORZ, no way :p

I guess there's not too much we can do, banning all noobs won't help us out in any way, they often ignore warnings anyways, and editing their posts is just doing work for people who are too lazy to do it themselves. The only thing we can do, is try to post as intelligent and much as possible, noobs will feel forced to act alike, and will grow up to become fine veterans.

Age however, does still matter, although age is not an excuse for spamming, younger people often don't realise they are.

I kinda miss the old HS and B_F. I see zwelgbelg sometimes IRL, last time I saw him must have been Belgium nationals.
