Theres a VGC style tournament in a little while, and im trying to decide if i want to switch up my normal team. Standard rules as far as i can tell, aside from it being a 6v6 rather than a 4v4 and that it has to be X/Y born and bred pokemon.
Charizard@ ite Y
252 Spe 252 Spa 4 Hp(Timid)

Ambipom (Technician) @ Life Orb

-Shadow Claw
Azumarill (Huge Power)@ Sitrus Berry
252 Atk 212 HP 44 Spe (Adamant)

Togekiss (Serene Grace)@ Leftover
252 Hp 252 SpD 4 Spe (Calm)
-Follow Me
-Wish
-Protect
-Air Slash
Krookodile (Intimidate)@ Choice Scarf
252 Atk 252 Spe 4 Hp (Jolly)
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Low Sweep
-Crunch
Magnezone (Sturdy)@Air Balloon
252 Hp 252 SpA 4 Spe (Timid)
-Flash Cannon
-Thunder Bolt
-Metal Sound
-Thunder Wave
Main Strategy:
To abuse Follow Me with a pretty bulky Togekiss and use spread moves for damage.
I kind of want to change Azumarill for Crawdaunt. Crawdaunt does more initial damage, has STAB knock off and im sure some other qualities. But its far less bulky, would be another pokemon weak to fighting and fairy. I would also lose my answer to any real dragon threat that could take out Charizard.
Crawdaunt (Adaptability)@ Expert Belt
252 HP 252 Atk 4 SpD (Brave) (Built for Trick Room)
-Crabhammer
-Superpower
-Aqua Jet
-Knock Off
Greninja (Protean)
252 Atk 252 Spe 4 Hp (Jolly)
-U Turn
-Shadow Sneak
-Rock Slide
-Water Fall
Another pokemon i thought if using is Greninja. I run a physical set for a surprise value, and STAB Shadow Sneak really ruins a bunch of Ghost types that just dont see it coming. It can out speed and rockslide all the other Charizard Ys out there. This pokemon also has pretty good synergy with Togekiss with both follow me and flinching. It also has similar weaknesses with Crawdaunt when switching in is considered.
