Ruling T-Tar Prime splash with special energy

Havn't quite found a solid answer to this question and just need something in black and white for proof for a friend of mine:

Tyranitar Prime's first attack splashes everything (excluding dark) with 20 Damage. That's almost verbatim. With the addition of Special darkness Energy, it deals another 10 damage to the opposing Active Pokemon. Would the additional damage goto anything else? Or, as I would assume, would the additional damage be localised to the Defending POkemon?

Your assumption is correct. On Special Darkness Energy, it does state that it will only add damage to the Defending Pokemon, not to anything that is benched.
